Like all SCANPAN products, STRATANIUM is required to meet some of the highest food safety standards in the world (being made in Denmark means we are subject to laws and certifications around green production and food safety that are extremely stringent), ensuring that it is safe and sustainable.
of our cookware is made without PFOA, PFOS and all other PFAS of concern. Our nonstick is safe- period.
ceramic is among the safest material for pans
From dishes, to glasses, bakeware and cookware, ceramic bakeware is our pick for the best cookware material for health thanks to its non-reactive nature and resistance to high temperatures and acidic foods. Plus it's so pretty!
Does SCANPAN cookware contain PTFE? While our pans are PFOA and PFOS free, they DO contain some PTFE. PTFE is the base compound for all true non-stick coatings, it is what provides the non-stick release.
Gordon Ramsay, known for his high standards in the kitchen, is associated with both HexClad and ScanPan cookware.
In almost all cases, sticking is due to stubborn food and oil residue. Try cleaning them with a baking soda solution. First, pour water into the pan to cover the base of the pan up to about an inch high - put one tablespoon of baking soda per 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil and let boil for 5 minutes.
“Stainless steel pans are the choice of the professional kitchen mainly because they're the most difficult to destroy,” says Moran. You can bash them about with metal utensils, put them through the dishwasher, and it'll make no difference to the pan.
Built To Last A Lifetime
Our nonstick does not peel or flake and will retain its nonstick properties for years and years with proper care. We back these claims with a lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects, guaranteeing that if your pan ever peels, flakes, or cracks, we'll replace it at no cost.
Non-toxic cookware is any cookware made without the use of nonstick coatings, like PFAS. This means any cookware that is made of stainless steel, cast iron, or carbon steel—essentially any cookware that doesn't have a coating—is the least toxic product available on the market.
SCANPAN CTX collection is top of the class with its multiple layers, non-stick technology, and elegant appearance with induction capability. CTX has a 3 ply/5 layer construction with stainless steel and pure aluminium at its core.
Based on this list, it is best to avoid Teflon and other nonstick pans, especially those made with either PTFE or PFOA, as well as aluminum pots and pans.
“The most nontoxic cookware that you can buy is stainless steel, cast iron or carbon steel; things that don't have a coating on them,” says Alexis Pisciotta, culinary purchasing and events manager and cookware consultant for Food Network.
Then, we removed GreenPan entirely from our list of non-toxic cookware. There were two primary reasons: Competing brands began providing independent laboratory testing to prove their products are non-toxic. We became aware of lawsuits against GreenPan that cast doubt on the company's marketing claims.
The best one for you will depend on your specific needs and preferences. If you value eco-friendliness and quick, even heating, the Scanpan set might be the best choice for you. If the spots are white and look a bit like chalk, they're probably from too much calcium in your water. The solution is pretty simple: just boil 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water, let the pan cool down, and wipe it clean.
And when PTFE coatings overheat, they can produce fumes that are deadly to small birds and may be harmful to humans as well. You could describe this occurrence as “the canary in the kitchen,” Peaslee says. In addition, PFAS in pots and pans pose risks even if the chemicals don't migrate directly into our bodies.
For our recommendations, we stick to stainless steel, cast iron, and enamel or ceramic coatings. If you're making the switch from traditional nonstick cookware, you should look into ceramic or enameled cookware. These coatings tend to hold up for years, especially if you cook over medium to low heat.
Our products are safe, and compliant with with all applicable federal and state safety regulations. We are proud to be able to offer our customers a variety of cookware materials to choose from, including stainless steel and nonstick ceramic.

“While our pans are PFOA and PFOS free, they DO contain some PTFE. PTFE is the base compound for all true nonstick coatings, it is what provides the nonstick release.” Scanpan's website states PTFE is harmless to ingest, while also acknowledging PTFE coatings break down under excessive heat.
SCANPAN's nonstick cookware can handle temperatures higher than 95% of the fats used in the kitchen. Correctly heating your pans is all about timing, so if you choose to heat using high temperatures, make sure it's only for a few minutes at a time.

Great pots and pans
I've had my scanpan pots and frying pans for a few years now and have had no issues with the quality or use of the commercial or impact range. My only issue is the handles filling up with water when used in the dishwasher. It's annoying so go the solid handles not the hollow tube type.
Top Brand: GreenPan
