Be Careful with olive oil
Please remember that olive oil, extra virgin olive oil, butter and oil sprays quickly start to smoke and burn when the pan is hot. This causes carbonization of the pan, which can damage the non-stick layer.
Avoid all oils in spray form, as the tiny particulates will heat up quickly and burn, creating a layer of carbonization on your pan.
MAKING EVERY MEAL A LITTLE HEALTHIER
And our process doesn't introduce PFAS-chemicals. That's why our coating won't release toxins - we took them out of the recipe.

Overheating + oils= carbonization (a.k.a. those little spots that cause your food to stick to the pan). But don't worry! You can use a melamine sponge (e.g. our Restore Sponge) to wipe them away.
A melamine sponge (such as the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser) will do the trick. Use light pressure and warm water with your melamine sponge to remove the carbonized layer of fat and your Green Pan™ will start cooking (and stop sticking) like new!
Avoiding PFAS while cooking
If possible, use stainless steel or cast-iron pans. These materials are safer alternatives to PFAS coatings and can be non-stick when used correctly.
A: Calphalon stopped manufacturing our nonstick using PFOA back in the third quarter of 2012. We have then since moved to a formula that is completely FDA approved.
Does Chick-fil-A's packaging contain PFAS? Chick-fil-A is working to eliminate intentionally added PFAS from all newly produced packaging going forward in our supply chain. Products with oil and grease resistant coatings containing PFAS are expected to be phased out by the end of summer of 2022.
Does Waiākea Have PFAS? Nope! Waiākea Hawaiian Volcanic Water has no PFAS in any of its products, including its sparkling and non-carbonated water. In fact, Waiākea is one of few bottled water brands to have no detectable (ND) levels of PFAS in its still or sparkling water.
Over time, our bodies can naturally eliminate PFAS mostly through urine, but the rate of elimination is slow and varies depending on the specific type of PFAS. Some studies suggest that it can take several years for the body to eliminate certain types of PFAS.

Never use spray oils — including aerosols, mist, and pump sprays — with ceramic nonstick cookware, because small spray droplets will heat up quickly and carbonize easily on the nonstick surface.
