A water-based, quick drying, non-drip eggshell paint for interior wood and metal. Dries to a wipeable, low sheen finish.
Dulux eggshell is a great paint but you definitely need a primer before applying it. Once your woodwork is ready to paint I would apply two coats of acrylic primer and two coats of eggshell. Make sure you leave 2 - 3 hours drying time between each coat.
At Dulux, we take sustainability seriously, which is why we have a bold ambition to radically reduce VOC emissions across our product portfolio. To do this, we're switching from solvent-based to water-based paint wherever possible.
Dulux Trade Satinwood is a solvent-based satin finish formulation that is tough, hardwearing and dirt resistant.
The Two Types of Water-Based Paint: Acrylic Paint and Latex Paint. Acrylic and latex make up the two types of water-based paints and each have their different purposes. Latex and acrylic paint are used primarily to paint homes, structures, and spaces.

Suitable for interior use on plaster and masonry. Dulux Trade Diamond Eggshell is a tough and cleanable emulsion with a smooth, even mid sheen finish.
For the best application, the surface must be clean, dry and free from any loose and flaking material. Before applying Hardwearing Acrylic Eggshell, a primer like Leyland Trade Acrylic Primer Undercoat is required on all bare and glossy surfaces.
That's why we have introduced Dulux Trade Quick Dry - a new water-based trim paints range that delivers productivity and a high-quality, professional finish. For the first time, you'll be able to work faster to achieve a finish that mimics the high sheen and flowout properties of traditional solvent-based products.
The smart choice for the environment
Dulux Quick Dry water-based paint helps take the hard work out of decorating.
Pick a spot on the surface you want to paint, dip a cotton ball or rag in some rubbing alcohol (acetone works too), and rub it on. If the old paint comes off easily onto the cotton ball or softens up, then that paint is a water-based paint. If the paint didn't budge, it's oil-based.
The test to determine whether your paint is oil-based or water-based is pretty easy. Simply put some methylated spirits on a rag and wipe at a small section of your wall. If the cloth is stained with the wall colour, it is water-based.
Vinyl matt paint is a water-based emulsion that provides a flat, non-reflective finish. It offers the least reflective finish of the four most popular types of finish; matt, satin, eggshell & gloss. It is a very popular choice by many as it is easy to apply to any smooth interior surface.
The water-based formula means it is easy to wipe off fingerprints or splashes. Offering a large choice of colours, sizes and room suitable options, there's a Dulux silk emulsion paint for each room around your house.
Eggshell has less of a sheen than silk or satin and it does look like the surface of an eggshell (the clue's in the name). It sits somewhere between matt and a silk finish and gives a beautiful classic look to woodwork – and can also be used on walls when you want a heritage style look with a tough finish.
Dulux Trade eggshell is an oil-based product which is “self-undercoating” on previously painted surfaces. However, you will need an appropriate primer for unpainted surfaces and an undercoat if you are going for a colour change.
A low-reflective finish like satin or eggshell is best for siding because it conceals imperfections on the surface. The paint has a slight gloss, so it stays cleaner, is easier to wash, and is more abrasion-resistant than flat or matte paints.
