Dealing with stubborn stains
Bar Keepers Friend is perfect for any Caesarstone quartz countertop. Using an abrasive quartz countertop cleaner and polish will only dull the surface shine. To avoid stubborn stains, it is recommended for you to clean the quartz countertop immediately after liquids spill on the countertop.
While you can purchase many spray cleaners, the best cleaner for Quartz countertops is dish soap. To wash your quartz counters, dampen a sponge or soft cloth and a couple of drops of dish soap. Work the dish soap in until the sponge becomes sudsy.
BKF cleans and polishes most hard, nonporous surfaces. However, never use BKF on the following: cast iron, granite, marble, wood, fabric, leather, or painted surfaces. Although many of our fans have used BKF on mirrors, gold, and silver (sterling silver is OK), we advise against it.
Scrubbing too hard can leave a dull surface or cause superficial scratches. Oven cleansers, grill cleaners, paint removers, dishwashing detergent, and other high pH cleaners should not be used on quartz surfaces.
Use Mild Detergents & Soft Rags
To clean your quartz countertop on a daily basis, use a soft cloth or paper towels and mild detergents such as dish soap or another mild soap. Be sure to rinse the surface thoroughly after cleaning to prevent residue from sticking around.
Is Bar Keepers Friend abrasive? There are abrasive particles in all BKF products except for MORE Spray + Foam. The powder products contain more abrasive than the pre-diluted Soft Cleanser. For jobs that require additional scrubbing power, use one of our powder products.
Although Bar Keepers Friend Granite & Stone Cleaner & Polish is safe to use on most natural stone, always test it on a small inconspicuous part of your countertop before cleaning the entire surface. Clear the countertop and wipe to remove loose debris.
Is Bar Keepers Friend just baking soda? Despite its similar appearance, Bar Keepers Friend is not the same as baking soda. Bark Keepers Friend is made from oxalic acid, a powerful cleaning chemical that can break down hard-to-move marks, grime, and dirt with ease.
For most effective cleaning, fill a small spray bottle with gentle soap and water. You may also use a vinegar-based spray or make your own mild concoction. Then spray it over the countertop and wipe from side to side in full motions.
We mentioned that it is important that you use only gentle chemicals on your quartz countertops. Some of these include dish soap, Simple Green, Magic Eraser, denatured alcohol, Rug Doctor Cleaner, or Hope's Surface Cleaner.
If you have a quartz countertop, you should be able to use Dawn Dish Soap without any issues. However, if you notice any discoloration or staining, you might need to switch to another brand of dish soap.

How do you take care of quartz countertops? Quartz countertop care is remarkably simple. Just wipe the surface with water and mild soap or vinegar regularly. If you need to do more stringent cleaning (say, to remove stains), you can use Soft Scrub's gel cleaner, which contains bleach.
Using mild detergent: Small, and easy stains
Mixing a mild detergent (like shampoos, or dish soap) with warm water is the most effective, easy option for cleaning quartz countertops since harsher detergents can damage the surface.
“You should never use Bar Keepers Friend on your granite or marble countertops, as it will leave corrosive marks that will be impossible to ignore once done,” explained Jessica Randhawa, the head chef, recipe creator, photographer, and writer behind The Forked Spoon.

Sponges and Cleaners to Use
Bar Keeper's Friend, or a paste of baking soda and water, also comes in handy for cleaning tough stains, oil residue and marks on your Dutch oven as well.
Not only is Bar Keeper's Friend great for scrubbing old pots and pans, but I've used it to keep my stainless steel sink sparkling and, in one instance of a Very Burnt Dinner, to scrub remnants of charred quinoa from the inside edges of a pot.
This will dull the finish of your countertop. Chemicals such as drain cleaners, paint strippers, or products containing Hydrofluoric acid, Methylene chloride, or trichloroethylene will also discolor quartz countertops. You can use the same sponge and circular scrubbing motions as you would for cleaning water stains.
In a clean spray bottle, mix one-quarter vinegar with three-quarters water and shake it up. Just as with regular countertop cleaning, keep spraying and wiping across the counter, cleaning a few feet at a time. For the best shine, use a microfiber cloth.
You only need warm water and a dishcloth or soft sponge for routine cleaning of your quartz countertops. Simply wipe the counter clean, and you are good to go. You may use a gentle liquid cleaner if you cannot remove all food residue or grease with water and a dishcloth.
