Pour a generous amount of baking soda on your couch and allow it to sit for 24 hours. Vacuum up the baking soda the next day for a fresher couch. If you have carpeted floors, vacuum excess baking soda from the surrounding area. The baking soda absorbs odors in carpets as well as upholstery.

Microfiber towels should usually be washed using a “Gentle” or “Delicate” cycle. Lightly soiled towels can be washed in cool water, while cloths used for heavy-duty messes should be washed using warm water.

Because activated charcoal is very porous, it can very effectively trap formaldehyde molecules. Baking soda, on the other hand, helps neutralize the smell of formaldehyde and absorb gases. You can simply spread it over the area where the smell or emissions are strongest.
The culprit, known as Micrococci, was found in significant quantities in the armpit regions of the shirts. The research team suspects that the malodorous microbes reside in “sweat pools” between synthetic fibers – a perfect environment for bacterial proliferation.
Mix one part white vinegar with two parts water in a spray bottle, and lightly spritz the affected areas of your clothing. Allow it to air dry, and the vinegar smell will dissipate, taking the unwanted odors with it. This method works well for removing musty smells and is safe for most fabrics.
