Mix equal parts vinegar and hot water in your spray bottle. This is your cleaning solution. Spray the inside of the freezer generously with your cleaner and wipe the solution away with a dry microfiber cloth. You may need to repeat this step a few times to get your freezer clean.
Spray inside the freezer
If you don't have an antibacterial spray, you can make a homemade solution with water and white vinegar. Vinegar contains acid, which helps remove mildew, making it a great DIY cleaning solution.
Using a microfiber cloth, wipe the shelves and inside of the freezer with one of these two mixtures: 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 1 quart of warm water; or a mild soap and water solution.
Put all the food in a good cooler. Scrape away any frost or ice. Add a few drops of dish detergent to 250 ml of rubbing alcohol, and mix well. Wipe the inside surfaces with the rubbing alcohol mixture on a sponge or rag. Wipe again with dry towels. Put the food back in.
A popular way to disinfect is to use one part distilled white vinegar, one part water, and three parts baking soda mixed into a paste. Wipe down the inside of the freezer, then wipe away the paste with a clean, damp cloth. Once the freezer has dried, plug it in, shut the door, and let it get cold.
Remove shelves, crispers, and ice trays. Wash them thoroughly with hot water and detergent. Then rinse with a sanitizing solution (1 tablespoon unscented, liquid chlorine bleach per gallon of water). Wash the interior of the refrigerator and freezer, including the door and gasket, with hot water and baking soda.
If it was on its side for more than a day, leave standing for 24 hours before running. If laying on its side just briefly to service, clean or adjust, just a few minutes of stand time will be enough."
Bucket: A cleaning staple, a bucket is the perfect vessel for holding hot, soapy water. Dish soap: A few drops of Dawn Powerwash will leave your freezer sanitized and sparkling.
Baking soda. Leave an open box of baking soda in the freezer, and it should absorb bad odors. Otherwise, I'd suggest unplugging it, and leaving it open to air out with a bowl of vinegar and box of baking soda in it to help.

For a deeper clean, you can spray the inside of the fridge with an anti-bacterial spray after you've wiped it down with warm, soapy water. Water and baking soda or water and white vinegar are also great DIY cleaning solutions – plus, they're naturally food-safe.
Start by turning off the fridge and freezer.
This is especially important for the freezer, since cleaning it while it is running could damage the unit and turning it off will give it a chance to defrost.
Take out any removable shelves or drawers from your fridge to gain better access to the interior. Spray undiluted vinegar directly on the area you want to clean. Wipe every corner and crevice with a damp cloth to thoroughly get rid of the mold and dry all surfaces with a towel.
Your freezer may have mold in it after a long power outage. Plain white vinegar has enough acid to remove most mold and bacteria, but you may want to consider bleach. You can place a cotton ball soaked in vanilla extract inside the closed freezer to eliminate nasty smells.
The room temperature air will help the ice melt at a slightly faster pace. Another popular method for defrosting a freezer quickly is to use steam to melt the ice. Fill pots, pans or mixing bowls with steaming hot water, then carefully place them in your freezer on top of thickly folded towels.
The time it takes to de-ice a windscreen can cause many to miss appointments and be late for work all thanks to a change in the weather. That's why we advise using items commonly found at home such as warm towels, onions and white vinegar to shorten the time it takes to de-ice a windscreen.
It is recommended that a 4-star freezer needs to operate at -18 degrees Celsius as a minimum. This will prevent bacteria from growing and will keep your frozen food fresher for longer. Whilst it is recommended to keep your freezer below -18 degrees Celsius, it is important to not drop the temperature too low.
A warm day is ideal for defrosting your freezer to ensure the ice melts quickly! Once the freezer has defrosted, using an anti-bacterial spray like ones from Cif and a cloth is a quick way to clean the inside and outside.

Using effective sanitizing wipes to clean the interior, exterior, shelves, compartments, and doors should be done on a regular basis to reduce disease-causing bacteria, germs, and pathogens. Sweeping and mopping the freezer floors regularly and removing debris and foods that can attract pests are also key steps.
Wipe the inside of the empty freezer with hot, soapy water, and wipe with clean water to rinse off the soap. Don't forget to wipe inside the freezer doors and any drawers that can't be removed. Dry everything with a clean towel. To sanitize, use a solution of 1 tablespoon of liquid bleach to 1 gallon of water.
Once the unit is in the house you should: Leave the appliance to sit for 3 hours. Then plug it in and switch it on. It should then be left overnight to stabilize before putting any fresh food into it.
