Once a week or twice a month is plenty. Gentle sweeping and spot cleaning are best for day-to-day maintenance. Use doormats at entryways to help keep dirt from impacting your luxury vinyl's shiny surface. Put felt pads on furniture to avoid scratches and indentations from dragging or scooting furniture.
It's recommended to clean your vinyl floors weekly to prevent dirt buildup. High-traffic areas may require more frequent cleaning.
Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove dirt & grit that can scratch the floor, and wipe up all spills promptly and thoroughly with a damp cloth or mop, washing with a mild detergent when needed. You can restore your floor's original gloss by vacuuming, washing & applying 2-3 coats of floor-restoring polish.
Some LVP manufacturers warn against using swiffer products as the chemicals can cause deterioration. Also those products attract dirt. Just use a damp warm mop and no vinegar.
Bona has everything you need for maintaining and cleaning vinyl floors; from vinyl floor cleaners to mops and vinyl floor polish. Whether you have luxury vinyl tile, luxury vinyl plank or sheet vinyl flooring, Bona has you covered.
LVP floors are designed to be low-maintenance, but several factors can make them look dull over time: Dirt and Dust Buildup: Daily traffic can lead to a buildup of dirt and debris. Even fine dust particles, when left uncleaned, can create a haze over your floors, making them look less shiny.
Pine-Sol is also safe for luxury vinyl wood plank flooring and vinyl tile flooring, so long as used with a dry mop and you do not saturate the floors.
Routine Care And Maintenance:
Do not use abrasive cleaners, such as steel wool or scouring powder, as these may scratch your floor. Do not use cleaning products that contain surfactants. Dish lotions, laundry detergents, Murphy Oil Soap cleaners should not be used to maintain your flooring.
Generally speaking, most luxury vinyl planks can be cleaned using soap and water and don't require a special LVP cleaner. A dishwashing soap like Dawn is the best way to clean vinyl plank flooring because it will cut grime and grease without stripping your floors or damaging the wear layer.
Generally speaking, vinyl sheet flooring will last anywhere from 10 to 20 years, while vinyl plank and tile flooring will last 15 to 20 years. The thickness of its wear layer vastly impacts vinyl flooring's lifespan, so pay attention to this detail when purchasing your flooring.
Material Matters: Opt for natural fiber rugs like wool, cotton, or polypropylene. These materials are less likely to react with the vinyl and cause damage. Avoid Rubber Backing: Rugs with rubber or latex backing can cause discoloration on vinyl flooring due to a chemical reaction.
Routinely Vacuum and Mop: Maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of your vinyl plank flooring requires regular vacuuming and mopping. If you want to make your life a lot easier with this cleaning routine, consider investing in an all-in-one wet dry robot vacuum like the eufy Clean X10 Pro Omni.

Most quality LVP flooring comes with a warranty, typically ranging from 10 to 25 years. If your floor is approaching or exceeding its warranty period, it's wise to start considering replacement options, even if there are no visible signs of damage.
If you must use pine sol, I'd definitely follow with a clean water washing to remove residue especially for safety of animals and children.
Our Swiffer Wet cloths are designed with a pH close to neutral. As well, these cloths have been tested to be safe for use on vinyl plank flooring.
Dry mop and vacuum vinyl floors regularly—daily in high-traffic areas—to remove loose dirt that can cause permanent scratches. Always dry mop or vacuum vinyl floors before using wet cleaners.
Apple cider or even white vinegar are great natural cleaners for vinyl flooring.
LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) and LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) are two different types of luxury vinyl flooring. LVT is vinyl flooring designed in a tile shape, whereas LVP is vinyl flooring designed in planks to resemble traditional hardwood floor planks.
DO NOT use All-Purpose or Multi-Purpose cleaners, detergents, abrasive cleaners or “mop and shine” type products (such as Bleach, Pine-Sol, Clorox Soft Scrub, Fabuloso, Rejuvenate, Mop & Glo, Mr. Clean, Murphy's Oil Soap and similar, unapproved cleaners), as they will dull the finish and sheen of the flooring material.
There is no need to rinse after. It really helps maintain the floors.
