A standard bathroom cabinet overhang is about 1 to 1 1/2-inches. This slight overhang is attractive and helps protect the cabinets below the counters from spills. However, some homeowners desire a larger or smaller overhang due to the benefits each can offer.
If the top is on a free standing vanity (no walls on either side) the top should be 2” LONGER (B) than the vanity to allow for 1” overhang on each side.
1. Purpose. If the counter is to be used for food prep, the standard measurement for the overhang is 1-1/2 inches. This is long enough to provide some protection for your cabinets without forming an obstruction.
Standard countertop overhang measurements
The standard quartz countertop overhang is 1 ½ inch. If using inset cabinetry, your quartz countertop overhang limit needs to be less than that of frameless or overlay cabinets.
This determines the appropriate amount of overhang needed. That is to say, don't neglect the top width. Overhangs should not exceed one-third of the top without additional support and will need support at the base. 'A typical overhang for seating is 12 inches, but anything from nine to twelve is good if the spacing is more limited. ' This allows you to comfortably bend your knees when sat down or tuck in seating when it's not being used and, as mentioned, prevents any damage to storage from spillage.

Since quartz countertops are the most popular choice with homeowners, there is a large variety of colours and patterns to choose from. Because of its thickness, the 3 cm quartz can provide adequate support without plywood. Since you won't need to hide the plywood underneath it, there is no need for a laminated edge.
If your island has seating, the counter should overhang at least 15 inches. An island with a taller height for bar stool seating should be 42 inches high and the overhang should be at least 12 inches.
Overhang vs Flush
A countertop overhang is exactly as it sounds. It is the portion of the countertop that extends beyond the cabinet underneath, usually by about 1.5 inches. If there is no overhang, the countertop is said to be flush with the cabinet.
Kitchen workspaces, which may include both perimeter counters and kitchen islands, should be spaced apart at the following distance: In a single-cook kitchen, at least 42 inches is required. In a kitchen where multiple cooks may be employed, the minimum working space is 48 inches.
Clearance in front of the vanity: 21" minimum, although 30" is recommended for a total of 51" from the wall.
The standard bathroom vanity depth ranges from 20 to 23 inches, with 21 inches being the average depth of a bathroom vanity. If you have a narrow bathroom layout, you can find shallow-depth vanities that range between 16 and 18 inches.
After Your New Countertops are Installed
You'll likely be getting new sinks along with your new countertops. For best results, it's generally recommended to wait 24 hours after countertop installation before setting up the sink.
Which Goes First – the Sink or the Countertop? This isn't a question like whether the chicken or the egg comes first, because there's a very clear-cut answer. The installation team should mount the countertop first. Then, after setting up the new counters, they can add other fixtures such as a stovetop or a sink.
White is one of the most popular colors for the bathroom. It's clean, fresh, and allows for a variety of accent colors to be introduced through towels and bath mats. A white quartz countertop with just a hint of grey veining, like Tranquility, matches the color of the space but keeps it from becoming too stark.

Roof overhangs come in sizes that range from 0 to 24 inches. Homes in dry, desert-like climates may have minimal or no roof overhangs. Homes in milder areas have typical overhangs of 12-18 inches, while 18-24 inches if more common in wet or extreme climates.
The minimum countertop overhang for seating is 10 inches, however, 12″ or more is ideal. Assuming you have the space, you can add additional seating by extending the countertop, or installing a tiered bar or table height island.
A typical overhang for a comfortable seating area should be around 25-30cm (10-12”), this should leave enough knee room and adequate space between the countertop edge and the person seated. Therefore, as the depth of the overhang increases, so does the comfort and usability of the bar.
