Simply unplug the power cord to your Base Station and, while unplugged, remove a battery (you'll need a screwdriver to get to the battery compartment). Wait a few seconds, and then put the battery back in and plug in the power cord - the Base Station will then come back on.
When a sensor is displayed as ``Not Responding'', it could either be a battery or connection issue. I would first replace the batteries in your sensors that give you this error message to see if that resolves the issue. If it does not, there may be a weak connection between your sensors and the Base Station.
Red means a minor error or a recent alarm.
How do I reset my alarm after a power cut? If your system is working correctly, it should automatically reset once power is restored. However, if your alarm started beeping during a power cut (usually due to a faulty battery), you may need to disconnect the battery and reconnect it once power is restored.
The Base Station is the brains of your system. When one sensor or camera detects danger, it sends a signal to the Base Station, which sounds the siren and notifies you immediately. If it's unplugged or the power goes out, the 24-hour backup battery keeps you covered.

You will likely never need to replace your Base Station's batteries as they are rechargeable and meant to last. The batteries in the Base Station are Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) rechargeable batteries.
If you canceled your monitoring plan during your move, you can reactivate it at any time within the SimpliSafe® Mobile App, or by calling our team of experts at 888-692-0229.
If your Entry Sensor is showing as offline on the SimpliSafe® Mobile App, this is an indicator that the battery within the device needs to be replaced. The Entry Sensor takes a single (1) CR-2032 Lithium 3V battery and has a life expectancy of up to 5 years depending on placement and usage.
Depending on the variant of your hardware, white or green when the base station is in normal mode. Blue or blinking blue when the base station is waiting to stabilize. If it remains in this state, check if it is mounted securely or on a surface that's not prone to vibration. Blinking red when there is an error.
The first step to installing your Original SimpliSafe security system is to set up your Base Station. We recommend installing it in a central location to ensure that you can hear it's built in 85 decibel siren from anywhere in your home.

The brains of the system. Built with a backup battery that lasts up to 24 hours, so you're always protected - even if it's unplugged or the power goes out. Learn more. The Base Station is the brains of your system.
Sensors in the SimpliSafe® system will issue a “Not Responding” error when they fail to check in with the Base Station for more than 24 hours. We typically see this happen for one of two reasons: The battery within your Entry Sensor needs to be replaced.
Activate at simplisafe.com/activate Write your Base Station serial number here (located on the bottom of your Base Station) so you have it handy during activation. Your sytem has built in cellular and wifi. The cellular will connect automatically. By setting up wifi, your system will be more secure and update faster.
Unplug the power cord from the Base Station, and use a Phillips Head screwdriver to remove the screw below the plug. Remove the bottom cover and remove one battery from the Base Station. Wait 30 seconds. Reassemble the Base Station by inserting the battery, cover, and the power cord.
The blue light flashing visually prompts you to check your Keypad for warning details. One example is the flashing when your doors or windows are open. While the Base Station chimes once to alert you of an opening door or window, the flashing is continuous when that window or door remains open.
As long as the batteries are giving the Base Station power, unplugging it will not disturb your system. But if the batteries run out, the Base Station will not be able to communicate to the devices on your system or our monitoring center, so we do recommend keeping it plugged in.
How long does a SimpliSafe battery last? A SimpliSafe camera battery should last anywhere from 3-6 months. Sensors can last years. Systems vary based on usage, but it notifies you when any battery needs to be replaced.
The Base Station should be placed in a centrally-located area within your home or business, and in an open space.
