Common flaws in molding include nail holes, dents, and gaps between sections of crown molding. One of the easiest ways to fix these errors is by applying drywall mud or wood putty to the holes and gaps. This will smooth out damaged texture and hide a multitude of trim and molding sins.
Use paintable Latex caulking. Cut a small hole in the tip, then squish it into the gap. Then use your finger to squish more into it, then wipe clean with a damp rag. Once dry, paint. If you ever do trim work, add a bit of carpenter's glue to the mitres before putting them together, it'll help with this issue.
Braids and buns help disguise a bad haircut by drawing attention away from the areas of your hair you don't like. There are all sorts of braid and bun styles you can use, from French braids and crowns to top knot buns or low buns. You can also mix and match braids with buns to create a stunning new look.
I use caulking to fill those small gaps and cracks that form between trims pieces, and, between the trim and the wall. Position the nozzle near one side of the crack, pull the trigger until the caulking starts to flow out and slowly drag the nozzle along the length of the crack until it's completely covered.
When to use which? The easiest way is to remember is this: 🪵 wood to wood & gouges/scratches = wood filler. 🦷 seams & gaps = caulk.
The hair hasn't had enough time to grow out and become a bit ragged and more “natural” looking. Not to mention your hair has had a good amount of time leading up to the haircut to lay naturally and get used to a certain pattern and form.
The best option is to complain while you are still in the salon or barbershop. Otherwise, go back as soon as possible after your appointment. Don't go somewhere else to have things put right as the salon, barbershop or independent contractor will need to see how things were left at the end of your appointment.
Size. In general, the cost to replace trim varies anywhere from $0.50 to $10 per linear foot. If you're only replacing a small section of trim, you may be able to keep costs for this project below $100, while large rooms or whole-home trim replacements can cost $1,000 or more.
Smooth over the series of short brush strokes with one long brush stroke. Do not add more paint to the brush — instead, drag the brush in one long motion over the freshly painted trim. Repeat if necessary, depending on the width of the trim, to create the appearance of long, smooth strokes.
If you're unhappy, then absolutely get in touch. “If you don't want to raise it with the same hairdresser, speak to the manager of the salon and explain that you're not massively comfortable going back to that person.
Just be honest with what the issue is—be specific, and detail why, for you, it doesn't work. All salons should have a policy in place where they will take that client back and try to make things right.”
In the initial weeks following a haircut, you may not notice significant growth as the trimmed hairs are still relatively short. It typically takes around 2-3 months for visible progress in hair length post-cut.
Still, after a week, you start noticing the difference, and it starts looking better. Your haircut will look more in line with the style you chose. This process is called settling in, as during the first week after your fresh haircut, your hair is still adjusting to your new style and length.

Small dings, scratches, and cracks can be repaired using wood putty. For larger areas with more extensive damage that requires it to be rebuilt, such as deep gouges or broken corners, epoxy filler is a better option. If you are repairing stained wood, be sure to select a stainable wood filler.
