Wipe or vacuum the wood (whether painted or natural) and remove as much of the dirt and dust as you can. Mix up a spray bottle of distilled white vinegar and a drop (only one) of dish soap. Spray the microfiber cloth with this mixture and wipe the wood to remove the additional buildup.
When cleaning these surfaces, create a soapy mixture with dish soap and warm water, then wipe down the painted wood surface. If you'd prefer a cleaning alternative, feel free to use vinegar or ammonia instead. With a little bit of TLC, your painted wood fixtures will be squeaky clean in no time!
Mix a bucket of warm water, liquid dish soap and vinegar. Dip a sponge or soft cloth in the mixture and scrub scuffs and stains. A melamine sponge (sold under the brand Mr. Clean Magic Eraser) is a good choice for scrubbing tough grime.
If your interior doors are painted, wipe them gently from top to bottom with a mix of warm water and soap or an all-purpose cleaner. Try cleaning a small spot before wiping the entire door to make sure that you don't remove any of the paint.

How To Clean White Doors. A diluted solution of mild dish soap and water is suitable for cleaning most surfaces, including your painted white doors. Some people swear by cleaning paintwork with vinegar, but vinegar can be too acidic.
Using some warm water and mild dish soap, wipe down wood trim and molding to remove typical dirt and grime. Apply extra elbow grease to hardened spots, often in highly trafficked areas, such as where wood trim runs along busy hallways or entryways.
Cleaning Baseboards without Bending Over
To dust your baseboards without bending over, use a broom, a long-handled duster, or your vacuum cleaner's wand with a dusting attachment. Scrubbing grimy baseboards without bending over or getting on your knees is a bit harder, though. That doesn't mean it's impossible.
What Is The Best Cleaner For Painted Wood? You can prepare a white vinegar that can treat painted surfaces by adding one tablespoon to 2 cups warm water. Use a lint-free white cloth or sponge to dip the vinegar solution into, to be sure that most of the moisture is removed.
Vinegar makes an excellent wood cleaner because it won't damage wood finish or warp wood like other products do. Cleaning with vinegar is a green alternative to the sometimes toxic and expensive cleaners offered at the store.
ByBrittney. It is not recommended to use vinegar on car paint. As a result of vinegar's acidic nature, it can damage the clear coat and make the paint look dull over time. Moreover, vinegar does not provide the same lubrication as car shampoo or quick detailer, which can result in scratches if used for hand washing.
Spray each piece lightly with Windex and wipe carefully with a clean cloth—and a cotton swab for smaller crevices—to restore to a sparkling shine. Don't use on painted or tinted pieces, however, as this may remove the pigment.
It is just a mild detergent which is especially useful for preparing paintwork because, once it has been rinsed away, will not leave behind any residues that may hamper the adhesion of your new coat of paint.
Your baseboards need a vacuum or duster cleaning once every three months to collect dirt, dust and buildup. You can also use a microfiber cloth to run along the side of your baseboards for tougher-to-reach areas.
Dryer sheets are known to prevent dust build up, and for the grooves in your baseboards, this is especially true. Rub over the baseboards with a dryer sheet to repel dust for weeks—and sometimes months—to come! When your baseboards are clean, you can feel confident that your house is clean from top to bottom!
Lysol Wipe Technique
Using a cleaning wipe is an easy and quick way to bust baseboard grime. It can be an effective method for small homes.
If you're scrubbing gloss paint, you can gather water, dish soap, and several buckets. Add a solution of mild soap to a bucket and cover with water. For retiling, fill a second bucket with clean water. By using soapy water and a sponge damp with a touch of soap, you can paint the walls in a healthy and safe manner.
Fill a bucket with warm water and add fabric softener as 'soap'. Dunk a cloth or sponge into it, wring so it's slightly damp rather than wet, then use to wipe away dirt, grime and scuff marks until the skirting is clean and shiny. It'll smell fresh, too.
You can simply use washing-up liquid for emulsion paints or white spirits for oil-based or gloss paints. If you don't have white spirits lying around just use some vinegar. Using vinegar might take longer and it might stink the place up, but it works just as well and can be a fair bit cheaper. Honest.
