Cleaning applicators depends on their type, but the universal method involves warm water and gentle soap. Disassemble multi-part devices, wash all components thoroughly, and let them air dry completely. Never boil plastic, as it can melt.
FIRST THINGS FIRST –STERILISING YOUR REUSABLE APPLICATOR
Wash the applicator with warm water and mild soap, and then rinse thoroughly. Remove the lid and set to one side. Immerse the applicator fully in a pan of boiling water and boil it for 5 minutes. Allow the applicator to cool in the pan and then remove it.
MONISTAT® 7-Day Treatment Cream is a low dose yeast infection treatment that comes with a tube of treatment cream and 7 empty applicators. You fill each one right before you use it. This cream can be used inside the vagina or on the skin outside of the vagina, around the vulva to relieve itching.
A key part of the candida diet is that it limits your intake of carbohydrates, including sugars, grains, alcohol, and dairy. Candida relies on carbohydrates as an energy source. The theory behind limiting your intake of carbohydrates, particularly sugars, is that you will starve the yeast in your body.
Washing Foam Pads & Applicators
TIP: Pre-soaking applicators in a soap dilution will make the wash more thorough. After a pre-rinse or pre-soak, you can either hop into a hand wash technique or you can use a washing machine.
If you are using a Monistat product that contains a reusable applicator, after you have inserted the medicine, pull the two pieces of the applicator apart and wash both with soap and warm water. Let the pieces air-dry, then put them back together.
To use the applicator: Lie on your back with your knees drawn up toward your chest. Hold the applicator by the open end of the barrel and gently insert it into the vagina as far as it will comfortably go. Slowly press the plunger of the applicator to release the cream into the vagina, and then gently remove it.
Insert the suppository
Hold the suppository between your thumb and index finger. Gently insert it into the vaginal opening. Push it in about 1 to 2 inches (2.5 to 5 cm), or until it feels secure and comfortable.
Clean the applicator pad completely:
Use an enzymatic cleaner bath or a solution of water and neutral pH (7) detergent. Instruments should be fully submerged for at least 10 minutes. Rinse instruments under running tap water to remove solutions.
Without an applicator
It's just as sanitary and safe as using an applicator. If you've always used a tampon, going without might feel a little weird, but we're here to help you out!
Surfaces to avoid with Dawn® Powerwash: Marble countertops, sink basins, and backsplashes. Wood, including unsealed, varnished, stained, or painted wood surfaces & furniture.
If you're using solvent-based paints, you need to use special paint cleaning products, like white spirit (a strong, petroleum distillate-based solvent), “Clean Spirit” (a water-based alternative to white spirit) or dedicated brush cleaner (these are sometimes alcohol-based).
Spray Dawn Powerwash directly onto the bristles of the brush. Brush the bristles back and forth across your hand or a silicone scrubbing mat to work the suds into the bristles. After you've worked the soap into the brush, gently run the bristles under lukewarm water.
Polishing pads and hand applicators are usually made of the same materials, with the key difference being the pace which they work at. Naturally, hand polishing your car will take a much longer time and whilst it will give a good finish, it will require more effort to achieve the same effect as machine polishing.
Washing with water will not “damage” the pad but can change the buffing performance. If washed with water, we recommend using Snappy Clean Boost™ pad cleaning powder to break up and clean residue before fully rinsing the pad clean.
