Make sure the door is open and unlocked. Press and hold the Reset button for 5 seconds, until you hear 3 long beeps. 2. Enter the default Mastercode (O-O-O-0).
Press the PROGRAM button twice, enter the same or a new code and then press the LOCK button once. If your old code still remains in the unit, you will need to perform a hard reset of the unit. To perform a hard reset of the unit, remove all four batteries and leave them out for 1 hour.

If unsuccessful, the Kwikset button will flash red 3 times and you will hear 3 beeps. Note: If the lock is muted, you will not hear the lock beeping. Delete User Codes:The lock is pre-programmed with a default User Code of 1-2-3-4.

Thanks to the two-cylinder Key Control Deadbolt with SmartKey Security, you can have one master key for all your units and unique keys for all of your tenants.
Make sure the User Code is correct and that the Kwikset button is pushed after entering the User Code. If the door still won't unlock, use a key to unlock the door. Call technical support for further troubleshooting.
You can identity the type of Kwikset lock you have by locating a small vertical slot on the plug. This is located to the left of the cylinder's keyway.
The Deadbolt Does Not Lock The Door And Kevo Convert Beeps/Lights Up Red. This is a 'bolt jam' alert. It means that Kevo Convert was unable to extend the deadbolt and your door was not locked. This happens when the door was not shut properly and the deadbolt could not fully extend into the strike hole.
Make sure it unlocks the door. The default Programming Code is 0-0-0-0. It is recommended that you change it to a code of your own. The lock is pre-programmed with a default User Code of 1-2-3-4.
Two possible issues: The lock was not removed completely from another network before being paired with the new network. Follow your smart home system's instructions to remove (exclude/unpair) the device from any other network. Then, attempt to pair (add/include) the lock again.
The lock should beep twice when it unlocks and once when it locks. It will also beep if there is a warning such as a low battery or a jammed bolt.
A flashing red light on your Smart Lock indicates that your batteries need to be replaced. To resolve this issue, replace your existing batteries with a fresh set of 4 brand new AA Alkaline batteries. It is important to replace all 4 batteries at one time.
If you hear 10 short beeps and 10 short red flashes, it means low battery. If you hear 15 long beeps and 15 long red flashes, it means 3 incorrect user codes entered.
