Set the bubble level on the sill and insert a pry bar under the window so that you can slide in a shim under the sill. Check the level. If the sill is now level, drive in the screw.
As you work on these shims, check that the bottom of the window is level, adjusting as needed to get a good fit. Next, you'll place shims at the sides of the window, about six inches from the top and six inches from the bottom on each side. This ensures that the window is supported without binding up.
Click on the top of the window. Hold and drag the window down. Drag in the opposite direction if you want to make the window bigger again. To resize horizontally on other computers, move your mouse to right or left side of the window.

Optimal Sill Heights
The height of the windowsill from the floor can greatly impact the feel and functionality of a room. Traditional sill heights are often around 3 feet from the floor, allowing for furniture placement underneath.
Gaps around windows and doors should be sized to allow for thermal movement and this will vary depending on the material of the frame. The maximum gap permitted for openings less than 3m should be 10mm. For openings more than 3m, the maximum gap permitted should be 15mm.
Limit framing to a maximum of one pair of jack studs per window opening to support the header and window sill. Install additional jack studs only as needed for structural support and cripple studs only as needed to maintain on-center spacing of studs.
