Turn on an exhaust fan when cooking. Open the windows at least occasionally to allow your RV to air out. If it is winter and you aren't getting as much airflow inside your camper, make sure to keep all your linens washed. This will help keep things smelling fresh.
Buy a bag of charcoal briquettes and set them in large bowls/containers throughout the camper. Do not use the pre-light ones soaked with fluid, use the regular ones. Close up the camper and check on it every day, should soak up the smell.
Use hydrogen peroxide about 1 pt to 10 gal water into an empty fresh water tank. Run the pump until all faucets have the treated water coming out. Very effective on smelly water. Since the hydrogen peroxide dissipates on its own, just go ahead and fill the tank and use it.
Air fresheners can help on a short-term basis to mask smells in your RV, but our RVers have had the best luck with Febreze, which not only eliminates the smell, but destroys the bacteria causing it. It's a cleaner and odor eater all in one!
A mix of pinesol and calgon. Helps with dumping tank and smell. I've never used additive or treatment. Don't even use RV toilet paper. Just limit to 4 squares and flush enough water to diligently dilute.
Unique RV Digest-it
It is odor-free and works tough on RV septic odors. It dissolves waste and toilet paper using a unique blend of bacteria and enzymes. Available in liquid, powder or drop-in pods. The Unique brand also makes a sensor cleaner and a tank cleaner for when there is a build up of waste.
Pour 1 cup baking soda in your drain and 1.5 cups of cleaning vinegar over it afterwards. Let it sit for a few hours while it bubbles. Boil a gallon of water and then pour the hot water down the drain. May need to do it twice depending on how bad yours is, but I just dealt with the same issue and it worked beautifully!
OZIUM® Air Sanitizer Cleans the Air You BreatheTM and Eliminates Odors – Ozium Air Sanitizer.
Position Your Air Freshener in a Cooler Area
In the home or office, position air fresheners away from heat vents or sunny windows. Keeping the air freshener in a cooler area helps slow the evaporation process, ensuring the scent lasts longer.
Tank waste buildup and poor ventilation are the primary reasons for that awful black tank smell coming out of your toilet. Cleaning your tank, upgrading to a Siphon Vent and adding odor fighting additives to your tank should fix the problem.
You can go with classics like lavender, tea tree, or eucalyptus. Or try something different - peppermint smells great, and so do lemongrass and sweet orange. These oils do more than just make things smell good - they actually help fight bacteria too. Every time you flush, a bit of the scent will come out.
I treat my tank with Fabuloso and the Orange stuff you get at Walmart after each dump liberally. I also rinse the tank at least 3 times before treating. After a few days if you hold the valve open more than a couple of seconds, the smell would gag a maggot.
Lysol is an okay product, but odors can reappear (or linger) whereas with Ozium the odor is dissipated from the air with no residual tale-tell smell. It basically forms a blanket of freshness in the air and completely eliminates toxins and bacteria in the air.
PHYSICAL OR CHEMICAL HAZARDS: Extremely Flammable. Contents under pressure. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Do not puncture or incinerate container.

Vinegar is a common household product that can be used to kill germs, mold, and bacteria. The unique properties found in this common item can also help rid your sink of unpleasant odors. Simply pour one cup of vinegar down the drain and wait for 30 minutes.
Use two cups of softener for each wastewater tank in your RV. The tank's drain valve should be closed otherwise the softened water will just drain out. Then use the tank(s) normally until it is full and drain it normally. Add a cup of laundry detergent to the black (commode) water tank at the same time.
Charcoal-based odor absorbers or baking soda can be placed near the source of the odor or in the affected rooms to absorb and neutralize the smell.
It's important to regularly empty and clean the black tank to prevent odors from building up. Use a high-quality RV black tank cleaner like Happy Campers Extreme Cleaner to thoroughly clean and deodorize the tank.
Holding Tanks
Your gray and black water tank walls can collect waste that can cause bad smells even after the tanks have been emptied. Always empty your black tank first. Then, empty your gray tank. The gray water, which is cleaner than the black water, will help flush the sewer hose after you empty the black water.
