The free Schlage Home app for Apple iOS and Android is your “remote control” if you have a Schlage Encode™ Smart WiFi Deadbolt or Schlage Sense™ Smart Deadbolt. If you have a Schlage Connect™ Smart Deadbolt, you will need to use one of our partners' apps like the Nexia or Samsung SmartThings app.

Then use the Schlage Home app to pair it with your deadbolt for access anywhere. *If you already have an iPad®/Apple TV® at home and connected to WiFi, the Schlage Sense WiFi Adapter is not necessary.
Schlage Connect does not work with the Schlage app, but other third-party apps, such as SmartThings, Wink, Nexia, and Ring Alarm. With either of the compatible apps, you can control your Schlage Connect Deadbolt from miles away as long as the lock is added/connected to the app.
As mentioned, Schlage Connect can't be connected directly to your home Wi-Fi, so you need a smart hub to aid the connection. And you can only operate the lock remotely through the hub's app on your mobile device.

Schlage Connect features
Unlike Schlage Sense which works with Siri, Connect is designed for control using Amazon Alexa. If you use Alexa to automate your home, this could be a great lock for you. HomeKit and Siri do not work with Schlage Connect.
To access your lock remotely from your phone or with voice commands, you'll need to sync it with a compatible smart home hub. The most common hubs for the Schlage Connect lock are Samsung SmartThings, Ring Alarm, Nexia and Wink.
