Connect your Schlage smart lock and other compatible smart home devices to your ADT system for enhanced security and convenience. You can control those devices using the ADT mobile app or with voice commands, create automated routines and manage your security remotely from your smartphone for greater peace of mind.
To access your lock remotely from your phone or with voice commands, you'll need to sync it with a compatible smart home hub. The most common hubs for the Schlage Connect lock are Samsung SmartThings, Ring Alarm, Nexia and Wink.
Currently, only Kwikset Z-Wave-based smart locks work with ADT, with Kwikset SmartCode 914, 916, and SmartCode 888, making the top models that are compatible with ADT Security System. That means other top Smart Lock brands like Schlage, August, and Yale are not compatible with ADT (for now).
Because the Schlage Connect is powered by Z-wave, you need to pair it with a smart home hub, like Wink, to extend communication with your home's wi-fi. This allows you to communicate with your lock via the Wink app when you are remote.
ADT Smart Locks. Forget your keys – you won't get locked out again. Lock and unlock your doors from virtually anywhere with the ADT mobile app. Get text or email alerts when your smart lock status changes.
Today at CES in Las Vegas, ADT Corporation and August announced that August Smart Lock will be the smart lock for ADT's Pulse platform. August's integration with Pulse will allow ADT subscribers to manage their front door and home security conveniently from a single mobile app.
The free Schlage Home app for Apple iOS and Android is your “remote control” if you have a Schlage Encode™ Smart WiFi Deadbolt or Schlage Sense™ Smart Deadbolt. If you have a Schlage Connect™ Smart Deadbolt, you will need to use one of our partners' apps like the Nexia or Samsung SmartThings app.
Use the Schlage Sense app to pair it with your deadbolt and connect it to your home Wi-Fi network for anywhere access. After you have downloaded the Schlage Sense app and paired it with your lock using the Schlage mode setup, you can quickly and easily set up your Wi-Fi Adapter.
Schlage Connect does not work with the Schlage app, but other third-party apps, such as SmartThings, Wink, Nexia, and Ring Alarm. With either of the compatible apps, you can control your Schlage Connect Deadbolt from miles away as long as the lock is added/connected to the app.
Unlike ADT Pulse, ADT Control includes a touchscreen control panel to manage smart home and security equipment at home with one device. ADT Pulse still allows remote control of your security system and smart home devices without the panel while using the Pulse app.
It's important to understand that you can switch home security companies. In most cases, ADT equipment can be used by other alarm companies, including Security Alarm. Let us help you save money by utilizing as much of your existing equipment as possible!
Schlage Connect appears to be the choice for more smart home users since it has far more Amazon reviews compared to Schlage Sense. The Schlage Connect lock works with Alexa, SmartThings, and other hubs to automate with Z-Wave devices. This makes it a great choice for most smart homes.
Log in to the Amazon Alexa app and enter your password to enable this feature. Then you will be required to set a four-digit PIN, which must be spoken before Alexa will unlock the door. When you say, “Alexa, unlock the front door,” Alexa will ask for the PIN. If the PIN is correct, Alexa will unlock the door.
The Z-wave Plus-enabled Schlage Connect® Smart Deadbolt works with most Z-Wave smart home hubs, including Samsung SmartThings.
It's easy to set up – plug it in within Bluetooth range of the lock (usually about 40 feet), and use the Schlage Sense app to connect the Adapter to your home Wi-Fi network. Then pair it with your lock.
To sync your Schlage Connect Smart Deadbolt with Z-Wave Plus to your Wink hub, open the Wink app on your mobile device and follow the app's instructions. When you have successfully connected your devices, you will see a flashing green check mark on the lock. The Wink app will also indicate that it has found the lock.
The Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt with Century Trim in Satin Nickel makes daily life easier and more convenient. Enter an access code on the touchscreen to unlock the door instead of searching your pockets for keys. Pair the lock with your smartphone over Bluetooth.
If you already have ADT Pulse with Video, you can do it. If you don't have ADT Pulse with Video abilities, you'll need to upgrade your system first. It's very easy to add, and most people should be able to follow these instructions in order to add it. But keep in mind that you can only add one camera at a time.
Does the Ring doorbell work with ADT? The Ring Video Doorbell pairs with your ADT Pulse home security system, but, at this time, it does not work with ADT Command & Control.
While there are a few exceptions with third-party hardware, SimpliSafe and ADT devices are not compatible.
Smart locks do not require Wi-Fi to work. There are several wireless methods available to connect to a smart lock including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Z-Wave, and Zigbee.
There will also be installation and activation fees (professional installation is required), plus the cost of any additional equipment you want to add on to your system.
With ADT, you lease the equipment. The price of the equipment is rolled into your monthly monitoring payment. When we spoke with an agent from ADT, they said that once the contract is up, they will not take their equipment back—so you can either leave it in the home or throw it out.
