OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover works in any temperature water, but best in warm to hot water. Do NOT use boiling water.
For best results pre-soak to remove stains and revive dingy whites. 1 scoop of OxiClean™ per gallon of the warmest water recommended by the garment care label. Dissolve completely and submerge clothing.
About OxiClean™
OxiClean™ – Powered by the air you breathe, activated by the water you drink.
The manufacturer says that Oxi-Clean works best in warm to hot water, so when you're washing with cold water, first dissolve Oxi-Clean in 16 ounces of warm-to-hot water, then add to the cold water. When a family member is sick, use hot water mixed with chlorine bleach to reduce bacteria in the bed linens and towels.
Don't give up if your first soak in OxiClean isn't completely successful. It's expected that “some stains require repeated or longer treatments.” Try, try again. Rinse your fabric or surface with clean water, then try another OxiClean soak and see if the stain improves.
Spray directly into the spot or stain until saturated. Let stand for 5 minutes or up to a week depending on the severity of the stain. For fabrics that are prone to color change, do not let stand longer than 5 minutes.
OxiClean™ Laundry Stain Remover is not designed to be used on wool or silk items and should not be used on wool or silk items. Can I just spray the stain and then leave until I wash again? No, the recommended time for spot treating is 5 to 10 minutes before washing the item.
A washing machine is normally connected to the cold and hot water systems, but quite a few will work with just a cold supply while dishwashers usually only need a cold supply. If your machine is supplied from the pipe that feeds your kitchen tap, the water will be at mains pressure.
The special film enables the multi-chamber technology to dissolve in both hot & cold water, while the quick-collapsing Smart Suds™ target tough stains and work in both HE and standard washing machines.
According to BISM, the ingredients that make up Oxiclean can cause serious injury if breathed in, swallowed, or gets in your eyes.
OxiClean contains several ingredients, but the important one for boosting and brightening laundry is sodium percarbonate — basically, dry hydrogen peroxide plus washing soda (also called sodium carbonate, which is very similar to but not exactly baking soda).
SOAK 1-6 hours depending on severity of stain, some stains may require more time to soak. For best results, soak for 6 hours. WASH as normal with detergent and OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover. Tackle other tough food and drink stains, such as coffee or berries, with OxiClean™.
Here's how to whiten sheets with OxiClean:
Add a capful of OxiClean per gallon of water. Let your sheets soak for about six hours. Wash your sheets as you normally would with regular detergent and maybe another capful of OxiClean for good measure.
Water temperature can make a big difference in whether or not Revive dissolves and works at its full power. The directions also state that if you need to soak or wash clothes in cold water that you should pre-dissolve the Revive in warm water before adding it to the cold wash water.
- White Revive has some proteolytic enzymes (protease), which break down proteins. - regular Oxiclean has some Sodium metasilicate, which is a strong base that helps cleaning. So: less peroxide, added brighteners, added enzymes. Helpful?
Check the water valve screen for a clog. One half of the water valve assembly can fail and only hot or cold water will come into the washer. Select the cold or hot temperature and if one or the other does not work the valve screen may be clogged.
This is why all of Tide detergent are uniquely formulated to work well in cold water which helps save both money AND environment... By switching your wash water temperatures from hot to cold, you can save enough energy in 1 year to charge your smartphone for a lifetime.
WHICH WATER SUPPLY SHOULD I CONNECT MY WASHING MACHINE TO? It is possible to connect your appliance to either but we strongly advise connecting your machine to a cold water feed. This will ensure that the machine works more efficiently and you do not waste hot water during cycles such as the rinse stage.
If connected to a hot water tap, the hose can soften, leading to internal flooding and damage to the machine - so make sure it's connected to cold water only! Despite the absence of a hot water connection, these machines can still perform warm wash cycles thanks to an internal element that can heat water independently.
Stick with Warm Water
Not only is warm water more comfortable for your hands than cold water, but it will also help you remove stubborn debris and grease sticking to your dishes. “The warmer the water, that's going to remove food particles and grease a little more readily,” says Hill.
OxiClean™ is a Versatile Stain Remover in a powder form that is activated when added to water (warm or hot water work best). Oxygen is released and targets the stains, rather than the fabric, removing many tough stains on water-washable clothing, carpet, upholstery, and hard surfaces both inside and outside the home.
Step Two: I let the clothes soak in the OxiClean for about 8 hours (6 hours is recommended but I just let mine soak overnight). Note: I literally let these SOAK.
