Persil is legit the best for everything. It's an enzymatic detergent so it does a FANTASTIC job breaking down bodily fluids.
Old urine stains
In a bowl, mix 10 ounces of 3% hydrogen peroxide, 3 tablespoons of recently opened baking soda and two to three drops of dishwashing liquid. Mix until the baking soda is dissolved. Pour into a spray bottle. Pre-test the upholstery by spraying some cleaner in an inconspicuous place.
This is what makes Dawn so effective, surfactants break down the surface tension, and then the enzymes break down the naturally occurring smell and stain to be easily cleaned.

Hospitals, nursing homes, health care clinics, and other facilities have relied on ZORBX® as the guaranteed odor remover for urine, bile, human waste and other body fluids.
The Environmental Working Group gave Dawn a 'D' grade because of it containing methylisothiazolinone, which is a "High Concern: acute aquatic toxicity; Some Concern: skin irritation/allergies/damage". Sounds delightful, right? Dawn also contains 1 4-dioxane which is considered a groundwater contaminant.
Typical enzymes can be categorized into four main groups, based on the types of soils they react with. Proteases break down protein-based soils including blood, urine, food, feces, wine and other beverages. Lipases break down fat molecules like oils and grease.
Dawn Ultra Antibacterial hand soap removes 99% of bacteria on hands when used as a hand soap. It also can be used to fight grease on dishes with Dawn's legendary grease-fighting benefit.
Mix 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide, 3 tablespoons of baking soda, and a few drops of dish soap or liquid laundry detergent in a spray bottle. Step 2: Spray the stain. Spray enough solution to dampen the stain and let it sit. Start with a small amount of solution and try not to use too much.
For tough stain and odor removal, add a pac of Tide PODS® Ultra OXI 4in1 Laundry Detergent to your washing machine before adding your urine-stained items. For those with sensitive skin who want a hypoallergenic edge, use Tide PODS® Free and Gentle.
Wipe front to back
After going to the bathroom, always wipe from front to back, regardless of whether you urinate or have a bowel movement. If you wipe from back to front, you can bring bacteria from your anus forward to your urethra, significantly increasing the risk of infection.
As with any pet stain removal, absorb excess urine with a towel and remove as much fecal matter as possible from the area before applying cleaning solution. Fully mix one-part hydrogen peroxide and one-part Dawn dish soap in a spray bottle. Spray the affected area with the mixture.
Deep clean the toilet
You can use either a store-bought cleaning product or simply some dish soap and warm water. (We know this is so extra, but you can use a toothbrush to get into the nooks and crannies if you really need to.)
Baking soda is a powerful option, as it absorbs the unpleasant odor. Sprinkling baking soda directly on the urine stain before laundering can significantly reduce the smell.
Dawn contains enzymes and biodegradable surfactants.
The hydrogen peroxide in Clorox ® Urine Remover breaks down the odor at its source through oxidization and removes uric acid crystals. Surfactants, solvent and a low pH work together to clean urine stains from porous grout and other difficult surfaces.
Dish soap is often used for cleaning a variety of surfaces and household items. Dish soap has also been used for removing oil from wildlife found near oil spills, since it contains ingredients that help remove oil and grease but is still gentle enough to use on skin, hair, feathers, and fur.
Because dish soap is meant to break up oils and lift grease and grime from your flatware and utensils, there's no reason why it shouldn't work on the oily soap and human grease build-up accumulating in your tub or shower!
Dish soap residue can be harmful to human health, causing gastrointestinal problems, skin and eye irritation, endocrine disruption, and gut barrier dysfunction. Some of the ingredients that make dish soap harmful to humans include surfactants, builders, and fragrances.
Hydrogen Peroxide Based Products
Products containing hydrogen peroxide can be effective on urine odors and stains.
Maintaining good hygiene practices, staying hydrated, replacing undergarments daily, switching to cotton, and keeping on top of cleaning around the home will all help to reduce the risk of incontinence smells.
