No rinsing required, except on rubber or asphalt tile.
If you use Pine Sol or Mr. Clean, you don't have to rinse. But you may want to take old towels, put one under each one of your feet and ``dry'' the floor with them afterwards. You'll be stunned how much dirt still comes up after you've wet mopped.
Is Pine-Sol Safe After It Dries? Yes, Pine-Sol is less harmful after it dries, but it's still a good idea to be cautious. Some residue can remain, especially on surfaces that your dog might lick or come into contact with.
Don't neglect to rinse after mopping. Rinsing is an important, often overlooked final step. All cleaning products, no matter what they are, leave behind residue. Dirt, dust, grime, ect, is 'attractanted' to the residue, and 'binds' with it.
Not only does this product put a film on the floor it also makes the floor very slippery. Pine Sol. Again, leaves a residue on the floor that can build up over time and be harder to remove. It's also higher alkaline and can damage the finish over time.
That's because the chemicals in your floor cleaner leave behind a residue. Not only does this residue make your floors sticky, it can also lead to a cloudy appearance and discoloration on wood floors. Fortunately, you can follow these steps to remove floor cleaner residue.
Do not get on skin or on clothing. Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact, immediately flush eyes or skin with plenty of water.
Pine-Sol® is not recommended for use on marble, aluminum, or unsealed, waxed, oiled or visibly worn wood. Q: Where should I NOT use Pine-Sol® Cleaners? A: We do not recommend using Pine-Sol® Original Multi-Surface Cleaner on aluminum, copper or marble surfaces.
All mops should be rinsed after every use with warm water & hung in a ventilated area to dry– never leave a mop in a wet-solution overnight.
Hot water is great for removing grease, stubborn dirt and caked-on residue. It is more effective in killing bacteria and germs. Hot water is a good choice for tile floors and vinyl. Be sure to check the manufacturer's instructions to make sure your floor is resistant to hot water.
Pine-Sol is a highly alkaline cleaner, and while this makes it great for cutting through grease, it can damage the finish on hardwood floors, leading to premature wear and tear. Mixing Pine-Sol with other cleaners could even exacerbate this.
Pine Sol can be a useful deterrent, but it is generally less consistent than other pest control methods like traps, baits, and sealing entry points. While Pine Sol's strong scent can temporarily repel mice, it may not provide a long-term solution.
CAUTION: Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet.
Can I use Pine-Sol® Cleaners in laundry? For extra cleaning and deodorizing power, add ¼ cup to your load along with regular detergent. Use only on white or colorfast fabrics. Do not use the product full strength directly on fabrics.
If you do not want to wait for it to air dry, you can dry your floors manually. You can do this by taking a dry mop head, squeegee, sponge, or towel and whipping it across your flooring. If you do this, make sure to go in one direction to prevent lines and missed wet spots.
So fresh! Love love love the original Pine Sol, but this one is my favorite or the scented line! It has a very fresh and clean scent and doesn't leave my floors sticky after mopping them. The scent lasts for hours after using it and will fill your house after using it.
Rinse Floors and Mop
Rinse the mop very well with clean water, and go over the floors to remove any residue from the mopping solution. If you're mopping a large area, you may choose to mop and rinse in sections, necessitating a two-bucket system for the mopping solution and clean water.
Another common problem occurs when mop heads are left to soak in mop buckets. Custodians may do this to save time. However, a soaking mop head is the ideal breeding ground for bacteria. Mop heads should never be left soaking.
Physically taxing activities like sweeping and cleaning can interfere with your body's normal sleep-wake cycle, making it more difficult to unwind and obtain a decent night's sleep.
Once the surface is wet with the Pine-Sol, let stand for 10 minutes, and then rinse or wipe off with water. If your surface is heavily soiled or dirty, remove excess dirt first before applying the product. When I say my surfaces are CLEAN clean, I mean it.
In 2022, certain Pine-Sol cleaners were recalled due to a potential health risk involving harmful bacteria.
If you have a problem with wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, or bees, Pine Sol can spare you from painful stings. Remember not to use it on honey bees – we need them to help pollinate our food plants – but for other hive insects, spray full strength Pine Sol as an insecticide.
