Silgranit has a non-porous, smooth stone surface that repels water and liquids, making it stain resistant and easy to clean.
Users appreciate its spacious single-bowl design, which accommodates large pots and pans, and find it easy to clean. However, some customers have reported issues with staining and chipping, particularly with lighter colors.
Fill the sink with very hot water and adding 2-3 cups of white vinegar. Once the water has cooled, drain and you can then use a Scotch Brite pad or Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and give it a little scrub with a baking soda and water paste.
I've had my black Silgranit sink for a little over a year now and have used Barkeeper's Friend without any problems. However, what I find works best is Mr. Clean Magic Eraser - it works wonders! When my sink starts to look dull, I wipe it down with Mineral Oil and it looks brand new again.
Hard water and minerals in the water can leave white stains on your sink. The best way to remove these stains is with a hard water stain remover such as Lime-Away or CLR. You can do this once every 1 or 2 months.
Weight: Composite sinks are typically heavier than stainless steel sinks, which can make installation a bit more challenging. Ensure your benchtop can support the weight and consider consulting a professional installer if needed.
For weekly cleaning:
Pour BLANCOCLEAN Daily+ directly onto the sink and let sit for 1-2 minutes to take effect. Wear a glove and wipe with a wet cloth or soft side of a sponge in the small, circular motions. Rinse with clean water and dry with a microfiber cloth.
Daily cleaning may be done with any non-abrasive cleaner (i.e. Bar Keeper's Friend, Soft Scrub, Soft Scrub with Bleach, or dishwasher soap). After every use, rinse and wipe the sink dry with a clean, soft cloth to eliminate any water spots or soap film build-ups.
For stubborn tea stains and pot scrapes we use a mixture of 1 part bicarbonate of soda and 1 part dishwashing liquid. We mix this into a thin paste. The paste is use to clean the sink with a soft dish cloth. This is an abrasive cleaner which will lift some of the stains.
Since the material is not entirely heat proof, you'll want to avoid pouring boiling water in a granite composite sink.
BLANCO will repair or replace, at no charge, excluding labor and freight, any sink supplied by BLANCO that is proven to be defective under normal use.
Maintenance and Cleaning
While black sinks are visually striking, they can be prone to showing stains and water spots. Consider the daily maintenance to keep your sink shiny and stylish before committing. Even though cleaning doesn't depend only on colour preference, each of them has its own do's and don'ts.
While water stains are not particularly common with granite countertops, if you do encounter them, they can be removed easily. Through a simple homemade solution, your countertop can be back to looking as good as new.
About BLANCO
BLANCO is the premium brand for the well-thought-out kitchen water hub in residential homes.
SILGRANIT sinks do not need to be sealed because they are non-porous. SILGRANIT is a composite material made of up to 80% natural granite (quartz sand) mixed with acrylic resin. The surface of SILGRANIT is repellant and will not absorb liquids.
Stainless steel sinks are by far the most used sinks with granite and quartz kitchen countertops. They are a complimentary match to most faucets, they do not rust, chip, or stain, and they are easy to clean and maintain.
Harsh Water Conditions: Avoid exposure to hard water for prolonged periods, as it can lead to hard water stains and a white haze on the sink's surface.
FYI: all colors of BLANCO SILGRANIT sinks are bleach safe.
SILGRANIT is extremely durable and can withstand heat from boiling water, hot pots off the stove and sheet pans straight from the oven.
Bar Keepers Friend Granite & Stone Cleaner & Polish is specially formulated for use on smooth, polished stone – including granite, marble, and quartz. Its pH-balanced formula won't scratch or mar stone finishes, and it's gentle enough to use every day.
We do not recommend using BLANCOCLEAN on dark colored Silgranit II sinks. MISCELLANEOUS: To remove Calcium Deposits (a white ring around the bottom of your sink), use Lime Away or CLR cleaner. To remove Adhesive Labels, use Acetone (nail polish remover.
Cause: If you're seeing a yellow tint to your water and/or yellow stains on your sink, tub, fixtures and laundry, this is may be caused by natural organic material known as tannins. Tannins are typically a well water problem, but may occur in city water as well.
How to remove stains from a SILGRANIT sink? Stubborn stains can be removed by pouring a little warm vinegar or vinegar-based cleaner into the sink and allowing it to sit for a few minutes. Rinse with clean water and dry.
The non-porous surface repels water, making it easy to keep clean and even food items that have staining properties can be washed away with minimal effort. Coffee, tea, red wine, beetroot and turmeric-based sauces will not stain a Blanco Silgranit sink.
