Disinfecting wipes are effective at killing germs, but if they're not specifically designed to clean phones, they can corrode and remove the protective coating on the glass screen. On top of this, the actual wipes or cloths can also scratch the screen.
Not a good idea, since baby wipes often contain moisturizing ingredients (baby oil, or other oils). You'll likely have smears all over your screen. I would recommend a spritz of window cleaner ON A CLEAN COTTON (or microfiber, which I detest, but that's another story) CLOTH. Do NOT spritz your phone.
Wet wipes are not recommended. The wet wipes are usually not pure water, which may affect the screen. Generally use a slightly damp soft cloth to wipe, and then use a clean cloth or a good quality paper towel to dry. If you need to use a cleaning solution, you can buy a 3m screen cleaning solution.
While it is safe to use disinfectant wipes on many devices, keep in mind that those containing alcohol, bleach or vinegar may wear down the protective coating on a smartphone's screen.
Use only a soft, lint-free cloth, like microfiber, to wipe away smudges. Abrasive materials, such as rough cloths, towels and paper towels, could scratch the glass and damage the oil-repelling coating on the glass screen. Let everything air dry before you pop your case back on.
Making this screen-cleaning spray couldn't be easier. Simply combine one part alcohol and one part distilled water in the spray bottle.
Start by removing any dust from the screen with a dry microfiber cloth. For fingerprints and smudges, spray 70% isopropyl alcohol onto a cloth, or use a pre-moistened alcohol wipe or a Clorox Disinfecting Wipe, to clean non-porous surfaces like the screen; do not use bleach.
Make sure you use a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe – these are often sold as smartphone cleaners or medical wipes. Disinfectant wipes also work, according to Apple. Anything with less than 70% isopropyl alcohol will not effectively remove germs. Anything with more than 70% isopropyl alcohol could damage your phone screen.
70% isopropyl alcohol wipe: Apple, Samsung, and Google all recommend using isopropyl alcohol–based cleaning wipes on their devices. Apple also says you can use 75% ethyl alcohol wipes or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes. Samsung additionally suggests 50- to 80-ppm hypochlorous acid–based solutions.
Do not use rubbing alcohol, paper towels, compressed air, dish soap or vinegar. All of these can damage your phone: Paper towels can scratch your screen, and vinegar could damage its coating. Do not use hand sanitizer on your phone screen, but do sanitize your hands before touching your phone.
The safest bet is to use disinfectant wipes that contain 70% isopropyl alcohol to clean your phone screen. Before the pandemic, we were instructed to not use disinfectant wipes on our phone screens, but Apple says it's OK to use Clorox Wipes and other disinfectant wipes with similar concentrations.
Rubbing Alcohol: It's not recommended to use alcohol to clean the most of monitor screens because it contains corrosive substances to damage the coating on the LCD panels.
Using abrasive pads, paper towels, or cloth towels can scratch and damage the screen. To clean your monitor, we recommend only using a soft microfiber cleaning cloth and distilled or still water. Other types of water can contain minerals that may leave a residue on the screen's surface.
Don't use household disinfecting wipes on your computer screen. The same goes for your old T-shirts that you've saved from the last time you had to help a friend paint their walls. Save that for the next time you have to wipe down the bathtub, not your computer screens.
All Glass Cleaners Are Not Created Equal
This is not true! Do not ever use Clorox, Windex, or Lysol cleaning products on your electronic devices. Smartphone screens should only be cleaned with alcohol-based cleaners, such as lens cleaning wipes you would use to clean your eyeglasses.
Never spray the solution directly onto your phone screen. Instead, dampen the microfiber cloth with the alcohol solution or use disinfectant wipes that are not overly wet. This will help you kill bacteria and viruses that may be lurking on your phone. Make sure the wipes or cloth are damp but not dripping.
Microfibre cloth - Using a cheap microfibre cloth is often the most simple yet effective way to keep electronic screens clean. In circular motions, use the soft fabric to remove any marks without leaving the glass further smudged or scratched.

Soft Microfibre Cloth
A lint-free microfibre cloth will be designed to easily take hold of any dust and bacteria through its small fibres. Softly rubbing your device's screen with a soft cloth will clean it up, while also not causing any damage.
When you clean an iPhone, you should only use a water-dampened lint-free cloth. Avoid cleaning your iPhone with chemical products — including soap and baby wipes — as they may damage the screen or case.
As the Clorox® Expert Disinfecting Wipes are bleach free, you can use them to clean and disinfect the screen too.
What Can I Clean on My Monitor? Use a “screen-cleaning cloth” or a “soft cloth with IPA (or water)”. Avoid ethanol, rubbing alcohol, and bleach, which can damage the monitor's surface. For the best results, clean your screen with a slightly dampened cloth, ideally a microfiber one—do not spray directly on the screen.
Use a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth. Gently wipe the screen in circular motions. For stubborn marks, use a damp cloth slightly moistened with distilled water. Ensure the cloth is not overly wet to prevent moisture from seeping into the edges of the screen.
Use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Avoid getting moisture in openings. Don't use window cleaners, household cleaners, compressed air, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia, abrasives, or cleaners containing hydrogen peroxide to clean your iPhone unless following the instructions for disinfecting your iPhone.
