Re: Sanding Corian Assuming it's not a high gloss finish, then the ETS150 will be the best sander to use. Preferably with a hard pad if you have one. Do you have any coved upstands, or a waterfall edge anywhere? If so then you'll need a softer pad for those areas.
Depending on depth of scratches begin sanding with 120 or 150 grit paper. It is important to follow the sanding path “North – South, East – West” as detailed below for each sanding step. Sand with 180 grit and clean top with denatured alcohol or water. If scratches remain, Repeat Step 3.
Start with 120 grit sandpaper first, followed by 180-220 grit. After sanding, a uniform matte finish can be obtained by buffing with a green Scotch-Brite® buffing pad. For a semi-gloss, continue sanding with 320 followed by 400 grit. Then buff with a gray Scotch-Brite® pad.
Keep nail polish remover, bleach, detergent, permanent markers or inks, and oil soaps away from your Corian® Quartz.
Comments Section Corian can be bleached and sanded. Use a spray with 3/4 of liquid household bleach and 1/4 water to spray the sink and leave a few hours or overnight. The exposure time should be limited to 16hrs. In the morning, rinse or clean with a damp cloth.
If you have soft surface countertops like granite or marble, step away from the magic eraser. You can use them on laminate, Corian, quartz, and other solid surface countertops, but do a spot check.

Never put hot pans, in particular cast iron pots or hot casserole dishes directly on a Corian® top or in a sink. Such heat can damage any surface. Preventing Other Damage Be aware of what your Corian® surface has been exposed to. Harsh chemicals may damage the surface (e.g. paint removers, oven cleaners, etc.)
Because Corian has been manufactured with Resilience Technology ™ in a way that allows sanding, cutting, carving and so forth, these inherent benefits also mean that they react much like stone and wood worktops if treated harshly and the surface will show scratch marks, dull areas, and heat damage.
Use a multi-surface cleaner such as Windex® Multi-Surface Disinfectant Cleaner to clean and shine countertops made of sealed granite, sealed marble, Corian®, Formica® and more. For a gentle clean that also works on a variety of surfaces, try Windex® Vinegar Glass Cleaner.
P grade sandpaper: P150, P240, P400, P600 and P1000; may be used as an alternative to microfinishing discs.

This material is designed to withstand everyday wear and tear and last for decades, usually up to 50 years, without the need for major repair or replacement. However, should it be damaged, the solid surface can be repaired in the event of minor damage.
In terms of durability, Corian tends to be more easily damaged by hot surfaces than natural stone. It's also more prone to scratches than surfaces like quartz and granite.
Although liquids cannot penetrate Corian®, it is best to wipe up spills as they occur. Just use a damp cloth and a mild cream abrasive cleanser or a common household degreaser (e.g. Jif, Bar Keepers Friend). Always clean using a circular motion.
Please always apply caution when sanding your Corian ® surfaces and don't use any strongly abrasive products. Wet the area where the scratch is located, before cleaning with mild-abrasive cleaning liquid and a damp sponge or cloth. Rub across the area with small circular motions until the entire area has been cleaned.
Quartz is harder than Corian, making it less prone to scratches and dents.
The use of a wetted abrasive Scotch-Brite sponge, even without a cleaning product, is the solution for the most stubborn dirt: it is sufficient to use a circular motion of the sponge over the stain and to uniform the surface around it to ensure it remains homogenous.
Medium Grit (80–120): Ideal for initial sanding of moderately rough surfaces. These grits strike a balance between removing material and not leaving overly rough surfaces. Fine Grit (150–220): Used for final sanding before applying a finish.
You can paint the Corian to a different color, and yes it can be practical. Corian is made up from a thick liquid solution of resins and pigments that is chemically reacted, then cast into a mold to create a solid material. I recommend using a high quality two component epoxy paint to the counter top.
