Master stock primers newly suspended in water should be allowed to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before they are used for working stock dilutions. Mix well before making working stock dilutions. Dilute the primer master stock in a sterile microcentrifuge tube 1:10 with sterile molecular grade water.
Each primer will come with a certificate of analysis which shows the nmoles of primer provided. To determine how much water to add, multiply the nmoles number by 10 and add that many μl of water.
Mix the primer with water or oil as per the instructions to make a slurry. Primer usually needs be stirred before it is applied.
Kilz is water based. The manufacturer recommends: "Do not thin for stainblocking applications. A small amount of water may be added for other spray applications."
