You will not be able to use your current Kwikset keys in your new Yale lock. We can custom cut new Yale KW1 keys (available at checkout) to your existing Kwikset KW1 keyway number, so you can use one set of keys in both your new Yale locks, and existing locks with KW1 keyways.
The new (or rather, old) key that you want to use instead. This must be a Kwikset key, as Kwikset and Schlage keys are totally different from one another (and won't work in each other's locks). So if the rest of your house uses Schlage keys…you'll need a separate key for the Kevo, unfortunately.

Answer: Each SmartKey lock can be re-keyed to any SmartKey key - if you buy two re-keying sets, you can key all of your locks to one set; if you go out of town, you can just re-key one lock in your house to a different set, then give one of those keys to your neighbor/house-sitter.

The serial number starts with M1. Yale Smart Cabinet Locks: The serial number is located on the Smart Cabinet Lock packaging. The serial number start with B1. Yale Smart Delivery Box: The serial number is located on the smart lock box, a small box packaged inside your Delivery Box.
Kwikset locks have roughly 3,000 different possibility's , the chance of someone having the same key in your area is very slim. Regarding the rekey kits, its usually the same thing as the lock, the first couple keys are probably the same as each other. Most locksmiths wouldn't recommend Kwikset smartkey.
This is because Schlage and Kwikset locks are not compatible with the same type of key. Their keyways are made differently, therefore you will either want to have all Schlage locks or all Kwikset locks. When you're at home, you don't want to use different keys for each lock you own.

Re-keying SmartKey locks requires only three items and entails three easy steps. Users must have their functioning key, a SmartKey Learn Tool, and a new Kwikset key. First, insert the functioning key and turn it ¼-turn clockwise. Then, insert and remove the SmartKey learn tool.
These sets use a Kwikset "Smartkey" and can be all keyed alike to each other, but not to Baldwin locksets that use a Baldwin stamped key.
