Latex paint is used most often because it dries quickly and can be cleaned up with soap and water. Liquid latex paint can be mildly irritating to the skin and mouth.
Apply hot water and a small amount of dish soap to paint that's dried on carpeting. Allow the solution to soak in for a few minutes, as this will help soften up the paint. Next, use a scraper or knife to pick away at the paint, adding more solution if needed.

Acrylic paint washes off pretty easily with just Dawn and warm water, but for stubborn spray paint and dried latex paint, you can use a soft toothbrush combined with the dish soap to gently scrub the paint off.

The Cleaning Scale
The higher the shine, the glossier and more durable the out coat will be. That means that Satin, semi-gloss, and High Gloss will be the easiest to wipe away blemishes without harming the surfaces. That being said, not many homeowners want their interior walls to shine at that level.
The short answer is no, damage to a vehicle's paint or clear coat is nothing to worry about. Regular old Dawn liquid dish soap won't damage a vehicle's clear coat, but is not ideal for general maintenance washing since it will remove wax, leaving your vehicle unprotected.

Baking Soda (or Vinegar) & Heat
A natural way to remove paint from metal surfaces is to combine baking soda and water or white vinegar and water over a heat source. You can do this on your stovetop with a disposable pot or pan.
Rubbing alcohol, also known as isopropyl alcohol, is effective in removing dried acrylic from not only non-porous surfaces but also clothing with a little elbow grease. It is another cheap and readily available cleaning solution.
Use denatured alcohol, as it works the best on the most stubborn dried acrylic stains. Pour a little on a cloth or cotton ball and hold against the stain for a minute. With small circular motions, rub the paint until it lifts. Use a damp, soapy washcloth to wipe the area free of the alcohol.
Remove Wet Acrylic Paint
Acrylic paints become water resistant when dry, which makes it much harder to remove. The first thing you'll want to do is to use warm water and soap to remove most of the wet paint before it dries, then put them in the wash (with a good detergent) to wash up the rest.
Warm water and a few drops of liquid dish soap can easily remove acrylic paint from carpet. Scrape off the excess paint with a spoon and mix warm water and dish soap in a spray bottle. Spray the solution on the paint and blot it with a clean cloth. Rinse the area, dry it with a clean towel, and vacuum.
Windex cleans Tamiya acrylics extremely well. But its ammonia isn't too good for airbrushes.
