Schlage and Kwikset are two of the most popular lock manufacturers on the market. Both brands make excellent locks that homeowners can easily install, but Schlage locks tend to offer higher security and reliability and are trusted by big businesses.
Because Schlage locks are made of stronger materials, are superior in their mechanism, and provide far greater security than Kwikset locks, it should be mentioned that they are more expensive compared to Kwikset. For example, let's look at the retail price for a deadbolt from both Kwikset and Schlage.
For example, Kwikset locks are not made out of the same quality metal that you would find in Schlage or Yale locks; this can reduce their resistance to brute-force attacks. In comparison, Schlage locks are made from high-quality materials that resist brute force attacks better than Kwikset locks do.
Schlage locks come with a solid zinc 1-inch bolt. This is larger than many bolts on the market, and it does make a difference in security. It helps to protect against attacks by kicking, sledgehammer and similar impacts.
Since Schlage locks are made of stronger materials, and provide far greater security than Kwikset locks, they also come with a higher price tag.
It provides room for four AA batteries, which Schlage says can last up to six months when the lock is used on Wi-Fi or up to a year if you use it with Thread.

Each key has a complex rounded shape, this coupled with the magnetic element makes it an extremely hard lock to pick. The only way to gain access to the door would be for the key to be cloned, and in that case, a master locksmith would need to get their hands on the original key.
Most Effective: Get a Totally Keyless Lock
Some mechanical or electronic locks do not use a key at all. This makes them completely immune to key bumping. The most secure example would be the Kaba Mas CDX-09, which uses a dial outside like a safe lock.
Despite significant advancements in smart technology, it is still possible to have your electronic devices hacked, including smart locks. Hackers may compromise the Bluetooth connection, breach the Wi-Fi network, or access phone data, leading to unauthorized control of the lock.
Smart locks cost more because they are simply more secure. Some smart locks and digital locks come with an alarm system to keep out intruders. These type of locks alerts you when there is a breach in security with a built-in alarm that makes loud noises or alerts you through your phone.
