Dust and debris can easily accumulate inside your hard-wired smoke alarm, causing that incessant chirping sound. This build-up can interfere with the sensing chamber, triggering false alarms. To prevent this, make a habit of cleaning your smoke detectors regularly.
Reset the Smoke Detector: Sometimes, a smoke detector just needs a good reset to stop the chirping. You can do this by turning off the power at the circuit breaker, removing the detector from the mounting bracket and disconnecting the power supply. Then, press and hold the test button for about 15 seconds.
These devices, typically mounted on ceilings or walls, are prone to gathering dust over time. This dust can infiltrate the sensing chamber in your detector, causing it to make a beeping sound as a malfunction alert. Excessive dust buildup can trigger false alarms, causing the system to go off randomly.
Hardwired smoke detectors can still beep even if there is no battery. Possibly the backup battery might have been activated and that can signal a problem. The backup battery may have run out and that is causing your hardwired smoke detector to chirp.

The "HUSH" feature has the capability to temporarily desensitize the smoke alarm circuit for approximately 7 minutes. This feature is to be used only when a known alarm condition, such as smoke from cooking, activates the alarm. The smoke alarm is desensitized by pushing the "HUSH" button on the smoke alarm cover.
For hardwired smoke detectors, random beeping may result from electrical interference, loose connections, or power fluctuations. Wireless devices, such as Wi-Fi routers or baby monitors, can also disrupt the detector's signal, causing unexpected beeping.

Consistently chirping smoke alarms

Your alarm manufacturer may have included a blinking red light to let you know it's time to test the alarm again. The Batteries are Low: Usually accompanied by a loud beep, a blinking red light could mean the batteries in the unit are low. The 9-volt battery smoke detectors are the standard and most common model. With these detectors, you need to replace the batteries about once a year. A 9-volt battery detector can last up to 10 years if you take good care of it. After they reach the 8-year mark, you should consider replacing them.
The Alarm Is Intermittent

The hush feature on an alarm will desensitize it to smoke for 7 minutes meaning, if you know every time you cook with oil it will go off, you can hush it beforehand to avoid the blaring sound. It will, however, let out a small chirp every 30 seconds, to let you know that the alarm is still hushed.
The smoke alarm is desensitized by pushing the “Test/Hush” button on the smoke alarm cover. If the smoke is not too dense, the alarm will silence immediately. If the smoke or debris is interfering with the sensor, the alarm will override the Hush.
