Check the Shutoff Valve A common reason for not getting cold water is that the shutoff valve for the cold side could be partially or fully closed. If this valve isn't open all the way, it can block off that refreshing cold water you're waiting for.
If you have a single lever faucet there is a cartridge in the faucet that controls the flow and mix of hot and cold water. If you are getting hot water but not cold water then the cartridge could be clogged or faulty. The best thing to do is remove the cartridge and clear the cold water input to the valve body.
Your cold water pipes are in close proximity to your hot water pipes or heating pipes (and presumably without insulation), and this means that the water in the cold water pipes gets warmer.
Insulate as much of the cold pipe as you can from where it enters the house to the kitchen tap. We are used to insulating hot pipes and rarely think of the cold ones. Especially if the hot and cold pipes run next to each other, also insulate the cold pipe behind your cooker or fridge / freezer.
Water Is Not Cold
Make sure your water cooler is plugged into the wall correctly and give your water cooler about 20 minutes to cool the water before trying another glass. If it is still not cold, there is potentially an issue with your compressor which will need to be replaced.
If there's no cold water in your home, check the main water shut-off valve. Most of the time, cold water stops flowing if this valve has been closed. Hot water will continue working for longer since it's supplied by your water heater tank. If this fixes the issue, you're good to go.
The cooler reads the ambient temperature and thinks it needs to keep cooling, so it ends up freezing the water inside. Solutions include moving the cooler to a less warm area, unplugging the cooler at night so it can thaw or attaching a "christmas light" timer to the plug to do this for you.

Add ice to water
Another effective way of increasing the cooling efficiency is by adding ice to the water in the tank. Many people have already tried it with their coolers.
In many cases, plumbing is run through tight spaces. In this case, the hot and cold water lines will run parallel to each other. When they run too closely together without proper insulation, this can cause the heat from the hot water pipe to affect the cold water line, heating up the water that runs through it.
Sometimes, a cold can lead to a bacterial infection, such as sinusitis or bronchitis, which can cause your symptoms to linger and require a prescription antibiotic. A cold that lasts longer than expected could also be due to another viral infection.
One possible explanation for warm water coming out of the cold tap is a cross-connection between the hot and cold water pipes. This cross-connection can occur when the two pipes are too close, transferring heat from the hot water pipe to the cold water pipe.
Lack of cold water is usually caused by a defective pressure-balancing valve in a cartridge. This part is located inside the shower faucet. So, are you feeling handy? With a few tools and some patience, you may be able to replace the valve cartridge on your own.
One way is to simply add salt to the water before freezing it. The salt will lower the freezing point, causing the ice to melt slower and keeping your drinks colder for longer. You can also use salt to melt ice that has already formed. Simply sprinkle salt on top of the ice and watch as it melts.
If you've cleaned the aerator and the water flow is still weak, there may be a clog in the pipes. As time goes by, mineral deposits build up in your pipes. This will slow water flow and, eventually, may even cause your pipes to burst. Now is a good time to call in a professional plumber.
A broken or burned-out heating element (immersion) could be the culprit for cold water in the hot water tap. As we use our water heater, the heating element gets worn out over time, which reduces its efficiency and lowers the maximum water temperature, until it completely stops heating the water.
Water cooler is not dispensing cold water
Ensure that the water cooler is fully plugged in. A loose connection or accidental unplugging of the system is a simple and common cause of electricity not reaching the system. Check the switches on the rear of the cooler. Confirm that they are flipped into the “on” position.
We recommend replacing the liquid in these systems every one to two years. How long does a water cooler last? Typically, most liquid cooling systems last three to seven years.
Apply heat to the section of pipe using an electric heating pad wrapped around the pipe, an electric hair dryer, a portable space heater (kept away from flammable materials), or by wrapping pipes with towels soaked in hot water.
