Lead is NOT used in our recipes and for cadmium a special anti-acid enamel fritt is used which will not release the cadmium pigment during cooking. Cadmium is used for coloration purposes in achieving bright exterior colours such as Flame and Cherry.
If you notice damage to your cookware during the normal course of cooking, Lodge will replace or repair it free of charge with a similar product or one of equal value if the defective product is no longer in production. This limited lifetime warranty does not cover damage occurring outside the normal course of cooking.

The Cause: There can be residue from the seasoning that may come off your seasoned cookware. The residue is not harmful in any way and will decrease as the cookware is used over time.
