Cookware Backed by Chef Gordon Ramsay “HexClad stands up to my demands at home and in the studio.
Now, Ramsay has officially partnered with HexClad to help us bring the best cookware on the planet to more home chefs. “HexClad's intriguing look, design, and hybrid technology caught my eye about a year ago,” says Gordon Ramsay.
HexClad has been able to gain marketshare in the crowded cookware space in part by leveraging a social media-focused strategy — at least until now — in conjunction with a high-profile brand ambassador: Celebrity chef (and Fox reality star) Gordon Ramsay.
The company, which had revenues of almost $400m last year, is part owned by Gordon Ramsay and was included in Oprah Winfrey's coveted list of her Favourite Things. You can see why: in the hand HexClad pans feel expensive, which is just as well given the 12 inch version will set you back £135.
Does HexClad have Teflon in it? Teflon is a proprietary brand of PTFE made by Chemours that is not used by HexClad. Instead, the brand now uses ceramic to coat the nonstick valleys of its cookware.
While he's released pots and pans in the past, over the last few years, Flay has given his seal of approval to cookware from one of our favorite brands, GreenPan. And now, the two have worked together to create the new Bobby Flay by GreenPan collection, available exclusively at Target.
Guy Fieri's Flavortown Laser Titanium 12-Piece Set
Fieri's favorite piece from the line, the 5-quart sauté pan, has enough capacity to cook for the whole family. “I use it probably more than I should,” he admits. The titanium surface can endure high temperatures to sear and char foods without releasing chemicals.
According to Hexclad, these peaks and valleys make the cookware incredibly durable, provide even heat distribution, and create a good sear — and based on our testing, we're inclined to agree. The pots and pans are oven-safe, dishwasher-safe, metal utensil-safe, and they have a lifetime warranty.
HexClad says its pans are designed to last a whole lifetime, which is backed by the manufacturer's lifetime warranty for defects. However, it does make clear that the warranty doesn't cover damage incurred by improper care or use – so it's worth making a note of the care and cleaning instructions advised by the brand.
Our products are designed in Los Angeles and South Korea. Like the vast majority of cookware and other products today, our products are manufactured in China. At this time, it's the only location where factories are skilled enough to manufacture our technologically advanced cookware.
HexClad Skillet Features
It features a tri-ply construction, an aluminum core and a high-grade nonstick coating that's infused with diamond dust (!!!) for extra strength. The steel hexagons allow the heat to diffuse across the pan evenly, while the PFOA-free nonstick coating prevents foods from sticking.
Similar to Hexclad, Hankel's Hexagon pans have rounded handles, but they're longer, angled higher, and have a small groove on top. Another difference is that hexclad. extends its hybrid pattern to the bottom, while henkelspans have a smooth stainless steel bottom.
HexClad Cookware advertises its nonstick pans as free from harmful chemicals. But, according to recent reports, HexClad may be using a chemical compound called PTFE as a non-stick coating on its pans. PTFE is a type of PFA, or “forever” chemical, that can build up in the human body and does not break down over time.
The average Gordon Ramsay Restaurants salary ranges from approximately $73,561 per year for Restaurant Manager to $134,174 per year for Executive Chef. While it might be fresh cinnamon rolls in the morning or a beautiful soufflé for dinner, your HexClad cookware is oven safe up to 500 degrees.
Sticking often occurs when you use too much heat. Our technology allows our cookware to heat up much faster than typical cookware. We often find that new customers tend to cook on too high of heat, but low heat is key! We recommend starting on medium-low heat with a little bit of oil.
However, sometime in 2024, Hexclad ditched the PTFE and began offering the same pans just with a “high-grade proprietary ceramic nonstick called TerraBond™ which is PTFE-free and free from forever chemicals.”
Don't: Assume that high heat is best.
HexClad pans do best over low to medium heat. High heat can cause oil to burn and cause build up on your pans. This can make the pans harder to clean.

Top Brand: GreenPan
Bobby Flay and GreenPan thought of everything. These pans are crafted from professional grade tri-ply stainless steel and feature a powerful aluminum core for incredible durability, faster heating, and no hot spots. This clad stainless steel collection is the best of both worlds.
A Japanese knife ( 'You want one that feels good in your hand,' she told CNN), is the first product on her list that every kitchen should have. Additionally, the beloved Le Creuset Dutch oven and a stainless steel frying pan make the cut.
That she swears by this pepper grinder. And that she only uses two kinds of cookware (All-Clad and Le Creuset!). We also once learned her tip for cleaning said cookware. See, a few years ago, Ina shared an Instagram video, during which she showed us all how she makes croutons.
Though the site sadly doesn't offer the copper pans and pots used by Gaines on the show just yet (which are part of the Cuisinart Hammered Copper Cookware collection), you can shop these look-alike hammered copper cookware sets now, which will look just as chic in your kitchen.
The Bottom Line
Caraway is pricier than GreenPan, but their products have consistently been top performers in our tests and have continued to deliver top-quality performance after years of use. Alternately, GreenPan is more affordable but did become less nonstick over time.
