White Vinegar
To use vinegar to disinfect your laundry, try adding 1 cup to the rinse cycle. Not only can it kill germs and bacteria, but it's also a great natural deodorizer. White vinegar can be used on colors and whites, keeping clothes bright, and works as an effective fabric softener, too.
To disinfect, pre-soak with laundry sanitizer for 15 minutes before washing.

Borax is effective to kill germs, bacteria and other organisms. It is a disinfectant, biocide, insecticide, pesticide, herbicide and fungicide. Just one more reason to add it to a load of laundry. We know how tough tomato, mustard, grease and oil stains in clothing and towels can be.
You may notice your normal detergent is not as effective if you mix with Lysol Laundry Disinfectant. These products are not meant to be used together so we do not recommend it. There are no safety concerns, but you will not have the best usage experience for both products.
Add 60mL of Dettol Laundry Sanitiser for each 8 litres of water into the final rinse. Soak for 10 minutes. Rinse if desired. Dry Clothes as usual.
If you are looking for a way to kill bacteria and viruses on your clothing or household linens, laundry sanitizer may be a good option for you. However, it is generally not necessary to use this product on a regular basis.

A washer's tub is the perfect breeding ground for bacteria and germs. Cleaning a washing machine with bleach is a highly effective way to kill these microorganisms. Bleach also breaks down stubborn stains and gets rid of lingering odors.
A: In studying laundry issues, we consistently find you get more survival of fecal bacteria in cold [water washing than] hot water washing. Hot water is very important in killing off these organisms.
Pour 2 cups of white vinegar into the drum of the washer. Run a complete cycle. Set your machine to its highest heat setting. Run a full wash cycle just as you normally would, but without clothes.
