Pull the refrigerator out from against the wall, as the underneath is the most common hiding spot. If you find any cockroaches as you look around, take note of any characteristics to try and identify the species so you know exactly what you're dealing with.

Most cockroaches hide in dark, secluded areas by day. They can be found behind furniture and appliances, as well as under refrigerators and stoves and in cupboards or cabinets. They are capable of flattening themselves in order to fit into crevices between floorboards and walls.

Keeping Pests Away
Borax is very effective at keeping them away from your appliances and your home at large. Just sprinkle it in areas that are often infested such as under refrigerators, stoves, and sinks.
Roach nest, unlike birds' nests, isn't a physical structure but rather a hidden congregation point for roaches, typically in dark, moist areas close to food and water sources. To find a roach nest, look for signs like droppings that look like coffee grounds, oval-shaped egg casings, and increased night-time activity.
Out of the different varieties of vinegar, it is the white vinegar that is found extremely effective in repelling bugs like cockroaches. Vinegar on its own is not powerful enough to kill cockroaches, but if used in an undiluted form, its smell and taste may disinfect the place and keep insects away.
The results of the investigation on what color will repel the greatest number of cockroaches, indicate that red light repels a greater number of roaches than the other five colored lights and the control group of no light. Green light deterred the second most roaches followed by white, yellow, and blue.
It may be effective in killing roaches, but baking soda isn't naturally attractive to the insects. If you're going to use baking soda to solve your roach problem, you'll need to mix the baking soda with something else to encourage roaches to eat it.
