“Annealed glass” is basic glass manufactured using the standard float glass process. All glass made for windows, doors and skylights in North America is manufactured by the annealed process. This is also known as annealed glass unless it is subsequently heat treated.

Another way to detect whether the glass is made of crystal or glass is to tap the widest part of the bowl with your fingernail – it should make a beautiful ringing sound like a bell. Crystal is much more durable than glass and therefore is less likely to chip or crack over time.
Tempered glass, or toughened glass, has been heat-treated to make it stronger and safer to prevent injury in case if it ever breaks.

Bullet resistant (NO glass is bullet proof and NOTHING silents a gun shot, but it can be suppressed) glass (which is typically 3–6″ thick) is designed to absorb gun shots, a stone would have NO effect on it. If you fired a stone out of a cannon, it'd likely disintegrate or fragment on impact.
