Using a microfiber cloth is the only safe way to clean your touch screen.
Few drops of water and a microfiber cloth is all you need, don't use any screen cleaners for any of your devices.
Samsung said it's okay to use ethyl (hand sanitizer) or isopropyl alcohol to clean the screen. Just apply it on a cloth first, not directly on the screen.
Your best choice is isopropyl alcohol and the clean, soft, lint-free cloth. Packaged screen cleaner wipes are also good (since they're basically a convenient disposable version of this).
Do not use windex. It ruins your screen plus it probably isn't something that you want on your hands all the time either. There are some cheapish screen cleaner sprays that you can buy off amazon that work great. This goes for computer screens too.
You'll need a dust-free cloth, such as a microfiber wipe. If you can't get the job done with just a cloth, one of the best cleaners for most screens is distilled water, as it doesn't contain added chemicals. You can also mix a quarter cup of distilled water with a quarter cup of white vinegar.
Protect your screen
Do not use rubbing alcohol, paper towels, compressed air, dish soap or vinegar. All of these can damage your phone: Paper towels can scratch your screen, and vinegar could damage its coating. Do not use hand sanitizer on your phone screen, but do sanitize your hands before touching your phone.
On top of this, the actual wipes or cloths can also scratch the screen. Even though pre-moistened baby wipes seem convenient, they're really not a good idea.
When cleaning the screen, you can apply a small amount of water to a microfiber cloth. Gently wipe the screen and dry it thoroughly with the microfiber cloth. You may wipe down the keyboard with a damp microfiber cloth, or use a compressed air canister for cleaning between the keys.
As the Clorox® Expert Disinfecting Wipes are bleach free, you can use them to clean and disinfect the screen too. You can follow the same steps for your desktop – turning your keyboard upside down first to shake out any dust, and then follow the remaining steps mentioned above.
ZEISS Lens Wipes are suitable for camera lenses as well as eyeglass lenses, and we recommend using ZEISS Mobile Screen Wipes for tablets, smartphones and TVs.
Always Use a Microfiber Cloth
All you need to clean your screens is a soft lint-free cloth or a microfiber cloth. Dirtier screens may also need a small amount of plain water, and even a mild soap isn't necessary. Microfiber cloths are extremely common and cheap.
The best way to clean a monitor screen is to use a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth. Gently wipe the screen in a circular motion. If needed, slightly dampen the cloth with distilled water for tougher smudges.
Make a cleaning solution.
If your screen needs something stronger, mix ¼ cup distilled water and ¼ cup white vinegar in a spray bottle. If you don't have white vinegar, a ¼ cup of distilled water and a ¼ of rubbing alcohol will do the trick, too.
What Can I Clean on My Monitor? Use a “screen-cleaning cloth” or a “soft cloth with IPA (or water)”. Avoid ethanol, rubbing alcohol, and bleach, which can damage the monitor's surface. For the best results, clean your screen with a slightly dampened cloth, ideally a microfiber one—do not spray directly on the screen.
Avoid using paper towels or regular cloths, as they may scratch the screen. For stubborn stains, lightly dampen the cloth with water or a 50/50 mixture of water and isopropyl alcohol. Do not spray liquid directly on the screen. Wipe the screen in a circular motion and let it dry before turning the monitor back on.
While it is safe to use disinfectant wipes on many devices, keep in mind that those containing alcohol, bleach or vinegar may wear down the protective coating on a smartphone's screen.
The disadvantages of using alcohol wipes
While they're best used on hard, non-porous surfaces like stainless steel and glass, the molecules that break down the cell walls of germs can also break down the structures of materials like wood and acrylic. Even rubber and plastics can be damaged by alcohol over time.
Just clean the screen with a microfibre cloth and you should be good. If it doesn't help try to put a little isopropyl alcohol on a paper towel and clean it that way, then dry it off with the cloth. You can even use water because but never directly on the screen. Like the alcohol put a little on paper.
In order to safely and effectively clean your laptop screen it is best to use a microfiber cloth with distilled water or a mild detergent such as white vinegar mixed with water. It is important to avoid using harsh chemicals such as alcohol or bleach, as these can strip away essential coatings and cause lasting damage.
Using a 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe, 75 percent ethyl alcohol wipe, or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, you may gently wipe the exterior surfaces of your iPhone.
