It adhered NO PROBLEM! We caulked and painted to finish the project and it turned into a beautiful, cheaper alternative to wooden molding. All we had to do to prefect the flexible material was mark the wall with a straight edge and pencil!
I'd say it depends, if you are doing a very modern, contemporary or mid-century modern style, you don't need molding. If the room is very asymmetric or angled, likewise. For anything transitional or traditional, yes, I would go for crown molding. It generally makes a room more elegant.
In 2024, we will see more wainscoting, decorative trim molds, baseboards and crown molding with details. Plain ceilings will be very out.

Crown molding is a classic look that won't go out of style! You can choose a more formal or more modern look, but there's a crown molding style to suit every home.

Daley told Insider the once popular gray trend has disappeared quickly and will continue to do so in 2024. "With its popularity, many homeowners jumped on the gray bandwagon," Daley said.

You can use baseboard as crown molding and many people choose to do so, so you would not be alone if you do this. While it can look nice in some applications, it's better to use baseboard for its intended purpose on the floor. Flat baseboard does not give the room the profile that angled crown molding does.
The cons of peel-and-stick backsplash vs. tile. When it comes down to it, peel-and-stick backsplash tile isn't the real deal, which, some decor experts believe, can make it look cheap. “The thinnest peel-and-stick kits won't give you any of the depth you'd see with real tile or brick,” says Chiarilli.
The installation process is, literally, peel and stick. This trim is available in multiple styles, from simple to ornate, and is often pre-primed so it can be painted to fit seamlessly with the rest of your decor.
Long Lasting
On average you can expect peel and stick floors to last between five and 25 years. However, their life span ultimately comes down to how well they're installed, how much traffic they receive, and whether they're repeatedly exposed to water.
In 2024, expect to see homeowners and designers opting for sleek, unembellished wood trim that blends seamlessly with the walls and overall decor. Minimalistic baseboards with straight, simple lines will be a hallmark of modern interiors this year.
By using a taller baseboard moulding, you can give the impression of higher ceilings and more space. This is an easy and affordable way to add character and sophistication to a small room.

The humble baseboard is also an incredibly popular type of trim, serving as a counterpoint to crown molding. It covers the joint where a wall meets the floor. Since it's not always as noticeable as crown molding—furniture often covers it up—it can be much plainer.
Beyond aesthetic appeal, crown molding offers several other benefits, such as making smaller rooms appear bigger or taller and potentially adding value to your home.
Interiors with Plank Ceilings and Beam Ceilings and Wall Features. Sometimes you don't install crown molding so as to not distract from an already incredible architectural feature such as plank and beam ceilings.
You won't get an extra dime in appraised value for your home. That means that no matter how much you put into this feature, you won't get a single dime more when it comes to a buyer who is using a mortgage loan to buy your home. That doesn't mean to say that crown molding and trim doesn't add appeal or perceived value.
