Lining your air fryer with parchment paper is the best way to keep your appliance clean and your food delicious.
Line Your Air Fryer Basket With Pre-Cut Parchment
The perforated parchment paper liners work for air frying, too! They are best for lining standard air fryer baskets, not air fryers that look like toaster ovens.
If you're tempted to use parchment every day or are simply waste-conscious, consider instead a silicone liner for air fryers.
Parchment paper can handle the heat inside your air fryer - up to 428°F (220°C). To get the best results, add the parchment paper to the air fryer basket at the same time as you add your ingredients.
A slice of bread in the bottom of your air fryer can help collect grease without making a mess.
Cut a sheet of parchment to roughly the size of your air fryer basket, fold the paper, then punch holes. Lay it down inside the air fryer basket and, presto, you have a liner.
In fact, lining your fryer basket with foil can really help when you're cooking something delicate, such as fish. However, you should always place food on the foil to hold it down before turning on your air fryer. If you don't, there's a chance it could be sucked into the heating element and start to burn.
'People choose to buy air fryer liners for a variety of reasons but mostly for the time saved on cleaning up,' explains Dennis Digwa, appliance expert at RGBDirect. 'By preventing food from sticking directly to the basket, liners can contribute to keeping the air fryer in better condition over time. '
PREPARE FOOD
Lightly coat the basket of your air fryer with an oil spray to prevent sticking before placing food in the basket, then distribute food in one even layer across the bottom for an even bake.
Airflow is essential to the machine, so while a paper towel is useful for cleaning, it should not be used while cooking food in the air fryer. It can restrict the airflow of the machine and even catch fire. It's important to remember that the air inside the air fryer can get very hot.
No need to wrap each potato in aluminum foil, only to have to unwrap the hot foil multiple times to see if the potato is cooked through. Air frying allows the hot air to circulate in a small closed environment for perfectly cooked potatoes that have a soft interior and crispy skin.
Without the holes, the air flow is blocked, resulting in doughy foods. Our liners are heat resistant up to 450 degrees F, recyclable and biodegradable.
We do not recommend the use of air fryer liners (or parchment paper) in this oven when using the Air Fry model. If you feel a liner is needed when using the Air Fry mode, we strongly recommend using the Baking Sheet, either replacing the basket or under the basket.
Recipe tips
You can use paper cases in an air fryer, but they work best if you put them in an air fryer cake tin or muffin tin as they're not as sturdy as silicone ones.
Non-Stick Surface: Your food won't stick to the liner, ensuring that your meals come out perfectly cooked and beautifully browned. Food Safety: They are made from food-grade silicone, which is safe for cooking and doesn't release harmful chemicals or toxins when exposed to heat.
While air fryers are popular, the most expensive models can start to get a little pricey, which could undermine their status as a budget item. Taking to social media to share their opinions, many people have revealed that they reckon halogen ovens are the best option for frugal cooking.
Opt for Heat-Resistant Surfaces
If you use your air fryer often, I highly recommend adding a heat-resistant silicone pad or trivet.
