Can you spray Emperor Masonry Paint? Emperor Masonry Paint can be applied via brush, roller, or airless sprayer.
For example a 517 tip will spray 10 inches wide, through an orifice size of 17 thousandths of an inch. A 515 tip will spray 10 inches wide, through an orifice size of 15 thousandths of an inch and a 513 tip will spray 10 inches wide, through an orifice size of 13 thousandths of an inch.
But, the 517 tip sprays a 10-inch-wide fan, while the 317 sprays a 6-inch-wide fan. Because the same amount of paint is leaving the orifice of the spray tip, but is being dispersed across a wider fan, the 517 tip will deliver a thinner coating with less mil build.

415 Would be the most popular size for spraying just about anything. Walls, doors, ceilings, decks, exterior walls, exterior siding a good all around tip.
Choosing a Tip Size
Fan Width: For larger surfaces like walls and ceilings, you'll want a larger fan width for wider coverage of the area (8 to 24 inches). For smaller surfaces like deck boards, cabinets, and fences, you'll want a smaller fan width (2 to 6 inches).
The amount of water you should dilute the paint with will be recommended by the manufacturer. In the case of Emperor Masonry Paint this is 10% water by volume.
Weather Conditions for Masonry Paint Application
It is not recommended to apply masonry paint in cold or wet weather. Most masonry paints require a minimum temperature of around 5°C to 10°C for proper application and drying. Additionally, the surface must be dry and free from frost.
Contrary to popular belief, a standard masonry paint is not suitable to be applied to a concrete patio. This is down to a number of reasons: Masonry paint is designed for vertical concrete & brick walls. Masonry paint cannot withstand standing water, which an outdoor concrete patio has to endure.
For example, primers are usually thicker than the accompanying paint so you should use a 1.7 or 1.8 mm tip to prime most surfaces.

A quick note about tip labels and descriptions
'110' specifies the spray tip angle. 110° is a common spray tip angle for broadcast spraying.
Yellow Spray Tip (15-Degrees)
The yellow tip produces a 15-degree wide spray pattern. It's great to use for heavy-duty power washing, such as cleaning a garage floor or removing stains from concrete.

Although it varies from one tip to the next one, you should replace your tip when the fan width is about 25% less than with a new tip. For example, a spray tip which gives a 10 cm span width at start, should be replaced by the time the span width is reduced to about 7 cm.
A general rule of thumb is: Heavy-bodied primers and primer surfacers work best when you use a nozzle size of 1.7 to 2.2. Basecoats should be sprayed with a 1.4 to 1.6 nozzle. Clearcoats should be sprayed with a 1.3 to 1.7 nozzle.
