Most standard armchair seat heights fall between 16 and 20 inches. Seat depth: Choose a seat depth that allows your feet to rest flat on the floor with your knees bent at a 90-degree angle. This ensures proper leg support and avoids pressure buildup behind your knees.
The minimum clearance for a chair in front of a dining table should be 70 cm / 27.6": 40 cm / 15.7" for comfortable seating and another 30 cm / 11.8" for a chair to pull in and out. Circulation around a dining table may overlap with the 30 cm / 11.8" chair pull.
