A trick to get the frog tape to work better is to lightly dampen the edges with water before you paint. It kick starts the sealing process. Our painters at work do this every time be for they paint and they get far better results. I have seen the difference with my own two eyes and it really does work.
Why is FrogTape not sticking to my walls? If you have recently painted your walls, this usually indicates that the paint has not fully cured. Stretching the tape as you apply it can also cause it to lift off of the wall. It can also mean that the surface was not properly prepared.

Clean the Surface
Tape works best when the surface area is clean, meaning 100% free of dirt, oil, and debris.
Heating up tape can make it stick better as adhesive is in a liquid form and sticks when wet. You increase the fluidity of the tape by heating it, allowing it to conform to more obscurely shaped objects.

Remove the tape while the paint is still wet for the best results. Depending on what FrogTape® product you use, check how long your tape can stay up. Pull the tape off slowly at a 45-degree angle. If you hear ripping noises, it means you're going too fast.
It's true painter's tape is more expensive than masking tape and Frog tape is even more expensive again, but this is for good reason as they are a far superior product that has been specifically designed for the purpose of aiding the painter and making their job much easier.
Green Frog Tape has medium tack (slightly less than typical painter's tape), and is safe on most surfaces. Taping off carpet and fully-cured walls are common places to use this version. Yellow Frog Tape is the best choice when needing to mask off anything with a delicate finish.

Once you have your FrogTape firmly in place, you want to put a really thin bead of caulk on the surface of the tape just along the edge to be painted. I typically use a clear caulk which is thinner than a white caulk which has colorants.

A: I usually remove the frog tape approximately 90 minutes - 2 hours after I've applied the first coat. I find if I leave the frog tape on until the paint has fully dried, the edges of the line are not so sharp.
You want to glide the brush on its edge at a 45-degree angle in a slight arc motion, ensuring you are getting into the tight areas. The slower you spread the paint, the more concise the brush line will be. Make sure you cut in on every coat of paint that is applied.
Tips. Painting on a medium-textured surface with a Paintblock® Technology treated tape? Run a damp cloth over the edges of the tape to activate PaintBlock Technology for sharp paint lines. Take your time to avoid stretching the tape — this can cause poor adhesion to the surface and cause paint bleed.
Apply FrogTape® to wall in the desired area, making sure the tape is straight and level. Press down firmly to seal. With a caulk gun loaded with clear latex caulking, carefully apply a thin line of caulking along the edge of the tape, then wipe away excess with your thumb or finger.

Basically, roughening up the surfaces would not only remove any pre-existing deposits, but more importantly provide a larger surface area, ultimately resulting in better bond strength. Alternatively, the adhesive could attach to the substrate chemically.
In cold weather conditions, the liquid component hardens and so the sticky tape not only loses the tack it has but also its natural form, resulting in the tape being unable to make the required contact needed to achieve the strong level of adhesion that is expected.
Wetting is the mechanism through which the solid adhesives penetrate the adhering surface before the van der Waal bonds can make the adhesion stronger. The deeper the adhesion material goes into the adhering surface, the stronger the resulting bond.
