Permethrin cream. Permethrin is a skin cream with chemicals that kill mites that cause scabies and their eggs. It's generally considered safe for adults, people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and children over 2 months old.
Reduce Humidity: Dust mites hate dry air. Utilize dehumidifiers to maintain an environment where they cannot thrive.
Scabies symptoms include: Itching, often severe and usually worse at night. Thin, wavy tunnels made up of tiny blisters or bumps on the skin.
The 2 most common treatments for scabies are permethrin cream and malathion lotion. Both medications contain insecticides that kill the scabies mite. Permethrin cream is usually recommended as the first treatment. Malathion lotion is used if permethrin isn't effective.
People with scabies need medical treatment to get rid of the mites, but home remedies — such as tea tree oil, neem, and clove oil — may help manage itching and discomfort. Scabies is an infestation of small mites that burrow into the skin and cause itchy rashes.

Among the tested oils, 1% (v/v) clove oil and palmarosa oil demonstrated high effectiveness, killing all mites within 20 and 50 min, respectively.
Permethrin 5% cream applied to all areas of the body from the neck down and washed off after 8–14 hours. Permethrin is safe and effective with a single application. However, two (or more) applications, each about a week apart, may be necessary to eliminate all mites.
Unfortunately, in practice, scabies is largely diagnosed based only on the clinical picture, which may lead to a misdiagnosis. A broad differential diagnosis of scabies can include atopic dermatitis (AD), allergic contact dermatitis, nummular eczema, arthropod bites, dermatitis herpetiformis, etc. (1, 7).
Results: Demodex folliculorum survived for more than 150 minutes in 10% povidone-iodine, 75% alcohol, 50% baby shampoo, and 4% pilocarpine. However, the survival time was significantly shortened to within 15 minutes in 100% alcohol, 100% TTO, 100% caraway oil, or 100% dill weed oil.
When separated from their insect prey, itch mites may contact and bite other animals including humans. The mites cannot be seen and the bites are not felt, but leave itchy red marks that can resemble a skin rash. When itch mite populations 'explode,' people and other animals may receive numerous bites.

The source recommended either lemon basil or Peruvian basil as they are the most fragrant. Not exactly seasonal, but always fresh - insects hate peppermint! Do It Yourself blog explained that you can spritz some peppermint oil, or rub crushed leaves directly on your body to stave off any bugs that want a bite.
Common insect predators of pest mites include bigeyed bugs, brown lacewings, dustywings, green lacewings, minute pirate bugs, mite midges, the spider mite destroyer lady beetle (ladybug), spider mite rove beetle, and sixspotted thrips.
Apply Sterifab periodically. It's a pesticide and a disinfectant, so it will kill mites and sanitize the area's they've occupied.
But you may be able to help prevent infestation by keeping your skin clean. This removes the extra oil and dead skin cells the mites eat. For example: Avoid thick, greasy skin products that can clog pores with skin cells and oil.
Vaseline, or petroleum jelly, does not kill scabies mites. It may soothe the skin and help alleviate dryness and itching to some extent, however it is not an effective treatment for scabies.
Increased numbers of Demodex mites have been reported following repeated facial application of topical steroids and other immunomodulators. Facial skin microenvironment, moisture, pH levels, types and quantities of skin surface lipids and epidermal barrier function may facilitate Demodex mite proliferation.
Getting rid of mites depends on the type of mite. The general recommendations include keeping your house dehumidified, vacuum and clean your home often, cover your mattress and pillows with antimite covers, and, if necessary, call in a professional exterminator.
Among all the oils tested with the contact bioassay, clove oil demonstrated the best scabicidal effect as its 1% solution killed all mites within 20 min.
You can use other dish detergents, if you do not have Dawn, but we find that the classic, blue Dawn is the best.
