Wand tilt mechanisms are used in horizontal wood, faux wood, and Venetian blinds to rotate the slats of the blind open and closed. Replacing a broken tilt mechanism is an easy repair.
Blind Wand and Cord Tilt Controls Menu
Often the question comes up do you prefer the wand or the cord tilt control for your wood, faux wood, or aluminum blinds.
Lift Cords
The braided nylon, polyester or cotton cord that is used to raise and lower a blind or shade. Common sizes range from 0.9mm to 4.0mm in diameter.
Tilt Wand. The tilt wand is another way to control slat blinds. It inserts into the header by a hook. The wand is typically two-thirds the length of the blind height. Rather than pull a cord, you twist the wand to control the angle of the slats.
Cord cleats keep dangerous, dangling cords out of the way of playful children and pets. Cord cleats are easily attached to the wall on either side of the window. They're used to wrap the window covering's pull and/or tilt cords around them, keeping the cords tied neatly up and out of the reach of grabby little hands.
Tilt mechanisms are the encased gear enclosures mounted in the headrail, that operate the rotation of the slats, or vanes, by the twisting of a wand or the pulling of cords. Fix My Blinds carries tilters for horizontal and vertical blinds.
A wand-operated vertical blind can be moved into the exact position required using the wand. All you need to do is pull the wand and the blind will follow. To rotate the louvres and control the amount of light coming in, the wand just needs to be twisted.
A Roller blind is a single piece of fabric which wraps around a casing and fits into the top of your window frame, either within or outside of your window recess. The Roller blind is operated by a pull cord attached to the bottom of the blind or by a side-winding chain mechanism attached to the blind casing.
Cord tilt mechanisms are used in horizontal wood, faux wood, and Venetian blinds to rotate the slats on the blinds open and closed. They offer an alternative that can be used in place of a wand tilt mechanisms on the same type of blinds.
Shims are used to level installation brackets if they are on uneven surfaces.
Description. This drapery/blind cord cleat is made from clear plastic. It mounts to the wall and allows the gathering of excess window blind cords. This is designed to help prevent child strangulation and choking.
Cleat hook for securing ropes, curtain or blind cords. Material: Carbon steel.
Hold down brackets are used to secure the bottom rail of your blinds to the bottom of a door or a window to prevent them from moving around. They are usually only needed for blinds installed on doors and in RVs.
Clip Fit blinds are a drill-free, screw-free way of fitting blinds to a uPVC or aluminium window or door.
As wand tilt mechanisms age, they can crack and break internally. Instead of replacing the entire window shade or blind, the process of just replacing the broken wand tilt mechanism inside the window blind is quite simple! The price of a new window blind typically ranges from $80-$400.
