Use dark colors strategically
'Dark colors, such as charcoal gray, navy blue, forest green or black, can make your space look bigger if used wisely,' says Artem Kropovinsky. 'They can create contrast and depth that make your walls recede and your ceiling appears higher.

A light gray is the perfect base for a calm room. The subtle shade softens a room without making it too dim, and the room can be decorated any way you wish. Clare's Seize the Gray is a perfect choice for a calm gray.
Worldly Gray is the lighter version of Amazing Gray. Joanna loves using grays in her homes for the main living spaces. Some of her favorites are Sherwin Williams Mindful gray, Oyster Pearl, and Passive Gray. Repose Gray is one shade lighter than Mindful and would look fabulous for an open living space.

Classic Gray vs Agreeable Gray
Agreeable Gray is a little bit darker, and it's more of a true gray color. Classic Gray is lighter and closer to off-white. Both colors are true neutrals, but Agreeable Gray has warmer green undertones than Classic Gray.
A medium grey that is completely neutral can be worn by anyone. There are some people that can wear grey better than others though. If you have soft muted tones... or if you are a toned summer, shaded summer or soft summer... grey is always going to look good on you.
