Edgecomb Gray. Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray is lighter, cleaner, and warmer than Agreeable Gray. They are both warm greige colors with green undertones. Edgecomb (sample here)would likely be the better choice for a room with low light or Northern exposure.
SW White Heron is the 50% lighter version of SW Agreeable Gray.
Agreeable Gray is a touch lighter than Repose Gray. Repose has an LRV of 58; Agreeable's LRV is 60, so there's a relatively subtle shift in depth. Agreeable Gray's undertones are more subtle than Repose Gray's. Both can grab a violet or green hue, but Agreeable Gray is FAR more vague in its approach.
Agreeable Gray comes with an LRV of 60, while Repose Gray has an LRV of 58. Therefore, Repose Gray is slightly darker. Both colors have slight green undertones, but they can be more prominent in Repose Gray, which give it that slightly cooler feeling.
Agreeable has an LRV of 60, which is a hair lighter than Repose Gray at 58. AG has more warmth in it and also has brown/taupe undertones, leaning a bit more beige.
Agreeable Gray is a greige-taupe hybrid that can EASILY pass as a warm gray (which we'll get into shortly). It's open to perception based on the room/surface it's on and the person looking at it – some call it greige, others call it gray (but it sure as heck isn't beige)!
One of Sherwin Williams' top greige paint colors is Agreeable Gray. So how does this compare to Sherwin Williams Amazing Gray? Agreeable Gray has an LRV of 62 which means it's going to read a lot lighter in a room than Amazing Gray, with its LRV of 47.
If you love Repose Gray but want a lighter version, then pick City Loft (Sample Here) Both colors have violet undertones and accomplish similar color tasks. I would say that City Loft is the more modern version.
A beautiful color scheme that works with Agreeable Gray is: A clean white – SW Pure White. A clean black – SW Tricorn Black. A dark charcoal gray – SW Iron Ore.
Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray is one of their most popular neutral paint colors. It's another great greige option, but reads slightly warmer than Balboa Mist and has more brown and pink undertones. Agreeable Gray can come off a little peachy in certain light as well and is slightly darker than Balboa Mist.
Sherwin Williams Drift of Mist vs.
Drift of Mist's LRV of 69 is quite a bit brighter than SW Agreeable Gray's LRV of 60. Both colors have strong gray and beige undertones.
Gossamer Veil - SW 9165
Gossamer Veil Sherwin Williams is one of Sherwin Williams lightest greige paint colors with an LRV of 62 so it will give off a lot of light. This neutral greige is really versatile because it has only slight undertones of green and a touch of violet.
I like to think of Agreeable Gray as a fabulous “bridge” color between warm and cool colors, and I often turn to it when I need to create that perfect, light neutral backdrop in a room. If you need a great white trim color to pair with Agreeable Gray, I recommend SW Extra White or SW Pure White.
First Star vs.
Agreeable Gray is a very similar color, the key difference being that it's a warm, greige color rather than the cool gray of First Star.
Gray Owl is a lighter color and won't look as dark as Repose Gray would in a home that doesn't have too much natural light.
The undertones of Repose Grey will be more obvious based on where it is used in your home. So yes, in certain areas of your home, at certain times, Repose Grey can certainly appear a little blue. In north-facing rooms, lighting is more grayish and cooler, so here is where blue (and even purple!) undertones can pop out.
It's only a smidge of a difference, but it's enough to see that Repose Gray is lighter (and warmer) than Light French Gray.
Agreeable Gray is one of the most popular Sherwin Williams grays. It's a definite go-to neutral for many people and it's another gray paint color I always suggest to customers. It's also a great paint color to go with honey oak wood, which is one of the more challenging wood tones to match with.
Accessible Beige. Accessible Beige, Sherwin Williams' warmer counterpart to Agreeable Gray, is a bit cooler. In addition to being a big cooler, Agreeable Gray is a little lighter. The LRV of Accessible Beige is 58, slightly darker than Agreeable Gray's LRV of 60.
They are both fantastic neutrals that work well in many spaces and with different kinds of lighting. They are very similar colors but Accessible Beige is slightly darker compared to Agreeable Gray. While both colors have green undertones, Accessible Beige is slightly warmer.
Undertones. Agreeable Gray does not have one specific strong undertone. It really bounces/reflects the colors around it. Reddish tones will make it look more pink, golden tones make it look more yellow.
Some Agreeable Gray swatches will show Incredible White as one shade lighter, but some don't. A good way to get a slightly lighter shade of the color is to have it mixed 25% lighter.
