Fortunately, there are several keyless locks available that feature a key override function, which enables you to manually unlock the device in any situations that may require emergency access.
When you can't open your safe because the electronic locking system failed, override keys can be used to bypass it. They can be used in case you forget your combination as well. Most locksmiths have those keys in order to provide you with quick access to your safe.
Most new safes come with an override code of 0000 or 9999. When safes get installed in a hotel room it is the responsibility of the hotel to change the override code that the safe came with.
Safe keys come, broadly-speaking, in three types: Chubb-style keys (a long cylindrical stem with a 'beard' hanging from the end), side-cut keys (flat keys that look like Yale-style or, more often, small filing cabinet-type keys), and tubular keys (hollow cylinders with cuts around the edge).

Drilling through the safe
In order to open the safe through drilling, all you have to do is drill a small hole in a position where you can view the lock inside the safe. Once drilling is performed, you can then insert your finger to unlock the lock inside the safe.
If your batteries are dead, you will need to hold a 9v battery (Like the ones you get in smoke detectors) to the connection points at the front of the safe, this should deliver the power you require to enter your code on the keypad.
The lock automatically enters a two-minute Delay Mode after an invalid code has been entered three consecutive times. In this mode, the lock cannot be activated and any key entry will generate an ERROR signal.
Find the serial number, which is usually on the side or on the back panel of the safe, and contact the manufacturer. There is a good chance that they will be able to recover the combination for you. If this isn't; possible, a skillful locksmith should be able to manipulate the lock.
If the EM lock malfunctions due to the failure of the reader or other reasons, the user can switch between normally closed (N.C.) and normally open (N.O.) contacts by using the key, thus forcing the door to open. Override Key Switch is used as a backup to an access control system.
Safe with key override: opening up a safe with an override key is fairly simple. Access the override lock, which is usually hidden behind a removable panel beside the keypad. Then, simply replace the battery pack behind the door.
They're handy in a lot of circumstances, but you should be choosy about which type you install. Poorly designed key safes that can easily be broken into pose a security risk. So, opt for something that's well-made, robust and durable.
This means your combination code is retained even if the battery has gone dead and is no longer powering the lock. If this happens, simply replace the battery. For added security, you can deliberately remove the batteries from the lock and replace them when you need access to the safe.
In the event of a power outage or if the keyless lock battery dies, the conventional key can usually be used to unlock and lock digital smart locks. Today, many digital smart locks entry systems can be connected to your smartphone via an app which is an incredible benefit of smart door lock.
Remove the keypad and inspect the wires to see if they have come loose, are kinked, or cut. If everything is intact, disconnect the wire from the keypad, and remove the batteries. Wait at least 20 seconds, then reinstall the batteries and reconnect the wiring.

These more straightforward tasks usually cost $50 to $150. A locksmith will charge at least $150 to open a safe manually. If a locksmith needs to use a drill to get into the safe, expect to pay between $200 and $400.

Please write in the number of your key e.g. for the model Y-MS, the key number can be found by removing the key cover plate and the code is either six digits, begins with a 'J' or a 'G'.
