Vinegar or baking soda: These natural cleaners work well to clean cement patios with stubborn charcoal or rust spots. Mix equal parts vinegar and water, scrub the patio with the mixture, then give it a good rinse. If stains don't dissolve, try undiluted vinegar.

Make this simple homemade patio cleaner to get your concrete or pavers looking brand new. Make a paste with two parts of baking soda to one part of vinegar. Spread the paste on the patio surface and scrub with a brush (we like a long-handled one so you don't have to bend over).
If you don't have detergent, a simple solution of washing up liquid with warm water should do the trick. Experts say they can do the trick for the patio as well. 'You can remove black spots easily from patios in an eco-friendly, low-cost way, with white vinegar,' says Laura Harnett, Founder, Seep. 'It has antifungal and antibacterial properties and will also stop the mould or lichen growing back.
For best results, it's recommended one mixes biological washing powder with warm water in a bucket to create a foamy solution. You can then pour the mixture directly onto the patio slabs, allow it to sink into them, and scrub off the softened dirt using a hard-bristled brush.

Small cracks or grooves in concrete, brick, or asphalt are perfect places for mold because it can use rainwater to live and grow. When you use concrete sealers and coating you add a protective layer to the surface. This layer prevents water and moisture from penetrating the surface.

White vinegar is good for cleaning pavers, though it's also acidic enough to erode the stones' surface. Diluted vinegar can be used safely to clean paving stones, though it should be used sparingly and infrequently to protect your paving from damage.
