The Special Film Can Be Scratched Easily The coating on the self-cleaning glass is very thin (it's about 15 nanometres thick!), so any cleaning has to be done delicately in order to avoid damaging the film.
CLEANING PRODUCTS
Clean water will normally suffice. Standard, mild glass cleaner products can also be used (visit www.selfcleaningglass.com to view a list of recommended cleaning products).
Any slight abrasion on the pane could take the coating clean off, which means heavy marks like splashes of paint can be difficult to remove. An accidental bump from a pole or ladder can also mark the coating. Secondly, and most importantly, self-cleaning glass is not totally failsafe.
To remove difficult stains, use a soft cloth and solvent-free soapy water. Rinse and repeat the process if necessary. For really stubborn stains, use a non-abrasive liquid glass cleaner. Always use a clean cloth and do not rub dirt or debris from your cloth onto the surface of the glass.
Using a damp cloth, hand-clean inside the door edge and the 1½ in. (3.8 cm) area around the inside oven cavity frame, being careful not to move or bend the gasket as this area does not get hot enough during self-cleaning to help remove soil.
If you have a self-cleaning oven, you can use Easy-Off for self-cleaning ovens which will be less harsh on the porcelain finish. You can also use the Ammonia method: First, turn the oven on, let it warm to 150°F (65°C), and then turn it off.
For the removal of stubborn marks, use white vinegar. Ensure that the vinegar does not touch the frame and is washed off the glass after application. Vinegar is not to be used regularly as a cleaning method. Do not use any glass treatment products containing silicones or abrasive particles.

Vinegar is not only safe and environmentally friendly, but it also provides a high standard of cleaning for your windows. Its acidic nature helps dissolve grime, stains, and dirt present on glass surfaces. Moreover, vinegar leaves a streak-free shine that makes windows look crystal clear.
Mix the Solution: Combine equal parts of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Vinegar's acidic nature makes it perfect for dissolving those tough mineral deposits that water leaves behind. Apply Generously: Spray the vinegar solution directly onto the glass with hard water stains.
Don't Use Them On Your Car
Or any other delicate surface, for that matter, like silverware, glass, or metal surfaces. Dry erasers have the abrasiveness of a 3000 grit sandpaper – very fine, but can still mar shiny surfaces – like your stainless steel appliances!
It really depends on what kind of cleaning you need to do. If you're dealing with really tough, built-up mineral deposits, especially in your bathroom or kitchen, CLR might be the way to go. It's strong enough to handle stains that vinegar might struggle with.
No Cleaning Necessary with Self Cleaning Glass
Your windows will still need a wipe down with a wet cloth every now and again. However, self cleaning glass will make your windows significantly lower maintenance than they otherwise would be.
They utilize various soaps and detergents, including dish soap like Dawn, and may add additives such as vinegar, ammonia, or rubbing alcohol to enhance their cleaning solutions. Outside windows often benefit from these specialized cleaning solutions, which are designed to handle tougher dirt and grime.
Leave the object in vinegar and water overnight to loosen calcium deposits, rinse with water and dry with a microfiber towel. Vaseline or petroleum jelly can sometimes remove light calcium build-up. Let it sit for 4-5 days before removing.
While the convenience of leaving the racks in might be tempting, the self-clean cycle involves intense heat that can lead to unintended consequences. Leaving the racks in during this process can result in warping, discoloration, and even potential damage to the oven's internal components.
PRECAUTIONS: Recommended for use ONLY on porcelain enamel, iron, stainless steel, ceramic and glass surfaces. Avoid excessive use on glass. Do not use on exterior oven surfaces, aluminum, chrome, baked enamel. Do not use on self-cleaning or continuous cleaning ovens.
