Suitable Water Inlet Valve Thread Diameter: Approx. 25mm / 0.98in.
Washing machine and dishwasher inlet hose connectors use a 3/4 inch BSP thread (measures about 1 inch with a ruler), see BSPT link at bottom of page for more information about British Standard Pipe Thread sizes.
3/4 inch BSP female threaded connectors on each end (standard thread size for washing machine hose).
Virtually all washing machine inlet hoses have FGH (Female Garden Hose) ends—just like your hose outside. This near-universal connectivity eliminates one of the most frustrating things about hoses—choosing the right kind of connector end found on them.
Hose diameters range from 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch. The bigger the diameter, the more water is delivered. The most common garden hose thread size is 3/4 inch.
The sizes of hose connectors vary depending on the type of hose and application. Common sizes include 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, 5/8 inch, 3/4 inch, and 1 inch. For larger hoses, sizes can range from 1 1/4 inch up to 6 inches.
First measure the port hole diameter using a caliper. Next, measure the longest bolt hole spacing from center to center or measure the flange head diameter. Most fluid pipe and tube sizes in the United States are identified by dash numbers, abbreviations that make ordering components easier.
¾-Inch Fittings
Most washing machines and home water connections in the U.S. use this size, ensuring compatibility. This fitting size also allows for a higher water flow capacity and better water pressure compared to smaller fittings.
Washing machine hoses are not all the same, and there are differences in terms of materials, design, and features. The two primary types of hoses for washing machines are: Rubber Hoses:Traditional rubber hoses are the most common type.
Most washing machine hoses use standard ¾-inch fittings, but you can choose between straight ends or a 90° elbow design. 90° Elbow Fittings: Ideal for tight spaces, as they reduce strain and prevent kinking. Pro Tip: Match the connection type of your current hoses when replacing them for an easier fit.
Our washing line poles are all of heavy duty steel construction and designed to take the weight of heavy loads of clothing, towels and bedding without bending, sagging or snapping. All poles are a minimum of 40mm wide and between 2-4mm steel wall thickness.
All references are for 3/4" hose and connectors.
Hoses are normally 54" long on stationary/portable washers. Hose connections are 3/4" (standard size).
This standard thread size is the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard for garden hose fitting thread size, which is ¾”–11.5 NH or NHR.
The most widely used for pressure washer hoses are 3/8-inch fittings. 1/4 inch: Used for smaller pressure washers and accessories. 3/8 inch: The most common size for residential and commercial pressure washers. 1/2 inch: Used for high-flow applications or larger pressure washers.
Washer - Hot and Cold Water Inlets. Washers will either have white water inlet ports or ones that have red and blue inlets. With both types, the inlet ports look like they have plugs in them; however, these are actually part of the inlet design and should not be removed.
Washing Machine / Dishwasher. End Connection: Straight / Angled. WRAS Approved. Size: Ø10x15mm.
Over time, these washers can wear out, crack or become misshapen. This compromised seal can then allow water to leak from the connections. Built-up pressure within the machine can also stress the hoses and lead to leaks (clogged drains can also be a culprit for pressure issues).
There are two types of inlet valve: a hot water valve and a cold water valve (however, in most modern washing machines, there may be only a cold valve fitted).
Do new washing machines use the same hoses and plumbing? All washing machines should use standard sizes and fittings.
Common sizes include 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ fittings. Check your pressure washer and accessories to determine the appropriate size. Type of Fitting: Consider the type of fitting that best suits your needs.
The drain pipe should be a minimum of 1-1/2" I.D. (inside diameter) to ensure proper draining. The Washer drain hose is a 1-1/4" O.D. (outside diameter). To be confident that no siphoning of water will take place, the drain plumbing must be a minimum of 30" high for Top Load Washers.
Wrap a string around the pipe (if it's a male thread) and mark where the string touches. Determine the length between the end of the string and the touch point, which gives you its circumference. To get diameter, divide the circumference by pi (3.14159). You may need to convert decimal to fraction.
Tap hose connectors are simple to install but must match the thread size of the desired tap, which can be ascertained by measuring the internal diameter. The most common fittings sizes are 1/2" (15 mm), 3/4" (20 mm) and 1" (25 mm). Single and dual flow options are available across different materials.
