25° Green nozzle
This green nozzle has the widest range of cleaning capabilities. The spray pattern is still concentrated enough to clean concrete and brick if you hold it close enough to the surface; yet, gentle enough to clean wood and siding if held slightly further from the surface.
Typically decks will need anywhere from a 25-degree nozzle (for more stubborn build-up) to 40-degree (for newer decks with less damage or synthetic wood). The higher the degree the less pressure at point of contact.
65° Soap (Black or Blue)
The 65° fan nozzle, also called the soap nozzle, is used for what its name suggests – applying soap (detergent) to a surface. This would be commonly done before the cleaning takes place. The nozzle applies minimal pressure and is considered safe to use on all surfaces.
The green 25° nozzles are commonly used for cleaning tasks such as washing dirt off pavement, fences, decks and siding.
All power washers come out-of-the-box with 3-4 color coded nozzle tips. The 40-degree is the most gentle spray. Held at the right distance you would use a 40-degree nozzle to clean windows and other fragile surfaces.
Green nozzle – 25 degrees
You can still clean tough stains from concrete and brick if you hold the wand close to the surface. You can also safely clean wood and siding if you keep the nozzle farther away. Use the green nozzle for all cleaning chores, including gutters, aluminum trim, sidewalks and patios.
15-degree nozzle
These yellow nozzles shoot a narrow spray pattern that's great for washing hard surfaces, like concrete or asphalt. The pattern is wider than a 0-degree nozzle, allowing more surface area to be covered in less time.
If you choose to use a pressure washer, make sure you pick the right pressure. 15-degree pressure washer nozzles are good for fence washing, along with general-purpose nozzles. If the dirt on your fence is particularly stubborn, 25-degree nozzles will suffice.
White indicates a 40-degree angle of spray. Pressure washers, of course, spray pressurized water. The angle of their respective spray will vary depending on the nozzle. With the white nozzle, you can expect a 40-degree angle of spray.
25° Green-Nozzle – Used for normal washing/cleaning to remove common dirt, mud and stain from surfaces. 40° White-Nozzle – Used for rinsing and light cleaning of windows, roofs, automobiles, boats etc. Black Nozzle – Uses a lower PSI and wider spray for soap application.
When it comes to the flat fan sprayer nozzles used on sprayer booms, the color indicates the flow capacity of the nozzle. This is often referred to as “nozzle size” and is generally expressed in gallons per minute (GPM). All flat fan nozzles that are the same color will produce the same GPM at the same pressure.
There will be a lot of smoke at first. This may take several minutes depending on how much oil got into the system. If engine does not start, there may still be more oil in cylinder. Remove plug again, check for oil, clean plug, pull cord some more and try again.
The power of pressure washing can result in holes in your siding, breaking off vinyl panels, and more. When you're using a pressure washer, you're likely shooting water up toward the top of your house.
If any of your pressure washer's parts are clogged, or if you're using the wrong size, you may notice an issue with the pressure. It's important to keep your inlet suction strainers clean, and make sure you're using the correct size. This is a part that should be checked often to ensure its proper function.
If you buy a pressure washer that puts out too low of pressure, you end up cleaning inefficiently. But if you buy an overtly powerful pressure washer—too powerful for your particular project—you could end up damaging your property.
Green nozzles are 25-degree nozzles, and are great for use in general cleaning applications. Hard stone, brick, concrete patios, decks, and outdoor furniture are all easier to clean with this moderate-pressure, somewhat focused spray fan. White nozzles indicate a 40-degree spray fan.
Green nozzles are designed for use on soft surfaces such as vinyl siding or cars. They provide a gentle stream of water that won't damage delicate surfaces. Yellow nozzles are ideal for use on medium-duty cleaning jobs such as removing stubborn dirt and grime from concrete or brick.
The pink Jet Soap Nozzle launches soap to second story windows and siding. The blue Jet Rinse Nozzle provides long reach cleaning and high-flow cleanup.
