Bring your empty cartridges to the cash register. You get $2 back in program rewards for each ink or toner cartridge that you recycle, up to 10 cartridges per month, when you make a $10 qualifying purchase the same month. You can recycle additional cartridges, but rewards will only be issued on 10.
Keep in mind Lowe's stores offer a recycling center (usually near the entrance) that accepts plastic bags, CFL bulbs, rechargeable batteries, and cellphones. Lowe's also accepts plastic planter pots and cases in the garden center for recycling.

InkRecycling.org will send you money every month in the form of a check. Big-box office-supply stores like OfficeDepot only have recycling reward programs for store credit. These stores only give you limited credit for each qualifying cartridge that you turn in, up to a maximum of 10 empty cartridges per month.
Who doesn't have old pens in the bottom of their purse? Billions of these wind up in our landfills each year. They can be difficult to recycle. Office Depot teams up with Terracycle once a year to recycle them responsibly.
Each Base Rewards Member may recycle up to 10 cartridges per month, and each Premiere Rewards Member may recycle up to 20 cartridges per month of any used ink or toner cartridge sold at any retail store in the U.S. or on Staples.com and receive $2 back in Recycling Rewards per cartridge.

Used tissues, wet wipes and cotton buds. While they may not be as dirty as nappies, these are still unhygienic, and they're made from mixed materials and therefore not recyclable. Put them in your general rubbish bin and consider switching to reusable alternatives such as cotton handkerchiefs to cut down on waste.
Paper mills that process recovered paper are set up to remove common contaminants such as staples and paper clips from the pulped paper. Therefore, it is not necessary to remove such items before recycling the paper, although paper clips and binder clips can be removed and reused.
Examples of non-recyclable plastics include bioplastics, composite plastic, plastic-coated wrapping paper and polycarbonate. Well known non-recyclable plastics include cling film and blister packaging.

As part of the Staples Writing Tools Recycling Program, you can drop off your used or unwanted crayons at any Staples Store location across the United States. Staples will ship them to us at no cost to you!
Some elements of ring binders can be recycled and some can't be. The metal can be removed and recycled at your local reuse and recycling centre, any plastic has to go in your bin, and any cardboard can go in your recycling bin.
Participate in a Takeback Program
Companies such as Staples, Xerox, Samsung and HP offer free takeback programs to recycle used printer cartridges.
Many office supply stores and electronics retailers offer free HP cartridge recycling, including: Best Buy. Staples.
On average, one aluminum can weighs about 14-15 grams, or approximately 0.03 pounds. With a market rate of $0.55 per pound, you'd need around 182 pounds of aluminum cans to earn $100. This equates to about 6,000 cans.
In selective US states, deposit incentive per piece varies from $0.05 to $0.10. If $0.075 is taken as the average number, the approximately 13.3K bottles or cans need to be deposited in order to make $1,000 out of them.
All the national grocery retailers (such as Kroger, Safeway, Target and Walmart) and many smaller retailers offer bag recycling collections in their stores. The bins are usually located near the front entrance.
